Thanks for replying. I was referring to the instructions you wrote regarding the security change (see below) #1. My file is not blocked
#2. I don't know what web file you're referring to... my file is an excel file (.xls) on windows 7

What I have done but still not working:
1. I added C:\smf-addin to trusted locations
2. I'm getting Request Error 404 when I hit f9 or smfForceRecalculation
3. As a test, I'm getting... Stock Market Funtions add-in, Version 2.0j =RCHGetElementNumber("Version")

Thanks in advance
Ken

Excerpt.....

We have a few options for workarounds. These are in order from safest to riskiest.
The best option is to move away from using HTML wrapped as .XLS. If you use native formats (e.g. XLS, XLSX, XLSB) which will open in protected view when untrusted, this will provide some level of protection from the documents being opened.
You can unblock access for individual files you know are safe. To do this:
Right-click the file, and choose Properties.
On the General tab, click Unblock.
Click OK.
You can make use of existing Trusted Locations capabilities in Excel 2010, 2013, and 2016 via File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Trusted Locations.
You can save the web html file to a trusted location on the local machine (Excel comes with a set of default trust locations). If you do not see the local folder location you trust for these files, then press "Add new location…" button and add it in the Trusted Location dialog. If the HTML document is in a trusted location the KB fix is not applied (e.g. the unsafe HTML file is not blocked). .
This approach may unblock you, but it carries some risk as files of any file type in Trusted Locations are fully trusted. If an attacker can drop files into the trusted location they can easily exploit users who open such documents. Be especially cautious when specifying a custom folder as a trusted location

I didn't write those instructions. Microsoft did.

The file you would unblock would be the add-in XLA file.

According to Microsoft, that should work.

.What is reporting the 404? The add-in wouldn't know if the page is
missing

That is such an old version of the add-in, I don't even know what kinds of
issues it might have.

Is there a site that you do like for this data?

Thank you .

Depends on which data you're going after...?

I get the ex-dividend date from GuruFocus, as well as generate an estimated
one using Yahoo's dividend payment history.

Randy,
I have been attempting to download the latest Add-In File:
RCH_Stock_Market_Functions-2.1.2017.02.15 from the website and it is being stopped from downloading by our firewall protection due to a virus possibility. I have never had this problem before and just wanted you to be aware.
Also when you search Yahoo Groups SMF-Add-In there are so many options that come up that are not correct. Google has a link as well but it does not link to your software....

Thanks
Pat

I would suspect it sees the XLA file inside the ZIP archive. Any add-in
could be a potential problem, because it can do almost anything once you
install it into EXCEL. Do you have more details on the message it's giving
you?

I'm not sure why the "beta" version of Yahoo groups shows up first in a
search.
