Sorry I can't solve this on my own. Asked before but still can't get current price.

Situation:

Used SMF for many years with no problem.

With the 2018.01.24 version I'm lost.

Have scrubbed C:\SMF Add-In several times and reloaded 2018.01.24.zip and installed onto Excel. On a new spreadsheet the "Version" test works but two problems remain. On entering Excel immediately get the message box: C:\SMF Add-In\RCH_Stock_Market_Functions-2.1.2017.11.08\RCH._Stock_Market_Functions.xla could not be found. This of course is the prior link but the Edit - Links points to the new one.

The other problem is I can no longer find a way to get the current price.

Guess I need an answer in words of one syllable.

Tom

If the "Version" function is working properly, it sound like the add-in
installed OK.

However, the message you're getting sounds like a workbook is being opened
from when you had the add-in in a different location. When a workbook is
saved, EXCEL saves a hard-coded link to the location of the add-in. When
the workbook is opened, if EXCEL doesn't find the add-in in that saved
location for a formula, it tags that formula as having an unresolved link.
That formula won't work until the unresolved link is fixed.

In most cases, running the smfFixLinks macro from the add-in will fix such
unresolved links. Then, when saved, it will save the new location as the
hard-coded location of the add-in, so you shouldn't have the problem the
next time that workbook is opened.

As far as getting current prices, try the smfGetYahooPortfolioView()
template. However, if you have the add-in in a non-standard location, it
will have similar unresolved links, as that template has a hard-code
location of the add-in based on where I have it located. But, again, it
should be easily fixed with the smfFixLinks macro.
