Randy,
Things have gotten stranger and stranger but the spreadsheet is working, for now.
Tried the macro route again. Input name, press enter and Run box highlights. Press Run and an input program shows up with no body programming. Same with other name.
"Version" command doesn't work.
Add-In (alt+t+i) says SMF is activated. Unclick, Close, Open again and reclick, close produces proper results in about 2/3 of the cells. "Version" still doesn't work.
Since this spreadsheet was brought over from a Windows XP machine, maybe something confusing was brought with it. Start a totally from scratch worksheet.
"Version" still doesn't work. Add-in manager shows SMF not activated. Activate and close. Still not work. But the SMF menu link is back. Hit SMF and Recalculate Worksheet. No change.
Go back to original worksheet. No change but SMF menu link back. Go to SMF and Recalculate Worksheet. Original worksheet repopulates with price data as usual. "Version" still not working.
Thanks for the suggestions. Don't know what went wrong, don't know how things were restored but at least I'm functional again.
