I have been using Randy's great add-in with Excel 2013 with no problems.

Thanks. I just tried it in Excel 2010 instead and it didn't work either for. My hard drive crapped out a few days ago so I had to do a clean install of Windows 8 with a fresh install of excel too.

Now for some reason, I can't get any of my old files that used this Add-in to work. I was able to get a few to run and update, but as soon as I try to save them, excel shuts down. Now, I can't even get them to update. Not sure what the problem is - I didn't change anything with what I was doing before my hard drive crapped out. Frustrating.

I found part of the solution to my problem in this message http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/smf_addin/message/11346

Excel changed all of my formulas by adding the location of the Add-in which messed everything up.

However, I am still unable to save any changes to my spreadsheet without Excel crashing. This is in both 2013 and 2013 versions. Anyone have an idea of what I can do???? Thanks.

Where there changes made to the SMF Update Download Table? Field 13862 Stock Name no longer works. I've been using the SMF update download table for years and now some of the fields no longer work like 13862. It worked approximately 2 weeks ago. What has changed?

Different symptom, but same cause. MSN dropped those fields from the print
page in their redesign of the web page.

My friend Tom pointed me to you as a replacement for MSN Quotes in Excel. We are both running Excel from Office 2010 with the Windows 7 operating system. His computer has allowed your Add-In to upload, but mine will not. After opening your file and enabling Macros the Add-In does not show up in the File > Options > Add-Ins on my computer although it does on his. We are both working with the 12-2012 latest update. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Kurt

You shouldn't need to enable macros for an add-in.

You should be unzipping the archive file into a folder and adding it to
EXCEL via the add-in manager, not "opening" a file. So I'm not sure what
you're trying to do.

Did you check out the "Overview"; in the "Documentation" folder of the FILES
area of the group?

Also, there are a few installation related items in the LINKS area of the
group.

Hi Randy,

Could you help me with the syntax for obtaining daily performance figures from the Morningstar "printreport" URL

Example: http://quicktake.morningstar.com/fundnet/printreport.aspx?symbol=

I am trying to pull data from the table subheaded "Trailing Total Returns." I would like to pull data ("Total Return %") for 1-month, 3-month, etc...

I have tried several combinations with no luck.

=RCHGetTableCell("http://quicktake.morningstar.com/fundnet/printreport.aspx?symbol="&$B65,1,">1-Month",">Trailing Total Returns")

Thank you in advance.

Try:

RCHGetTableCell("
http://quicktake.morningstar.com/fundnet/printreport.aspx?symbol="&D5,
1,"Trailing Total Returns","1-Month")
