I believe I found the thread you were referring to.

"Working backwards from a fixed string on Gurufocus"

I have tested one of the formulas and it seems to be working fine. I will adjust it to fit my spreadsheet's format and see if it checks out everywhere. I believe it will and fix a major bug I have been dealing with. Will let you know in a day or two how it worked out.

Thanks.

Hi Justin,

I am trying to pull the Gurufocus CSV file directly into Excel using the syntax you provided

=smfGetCSVFile("http://www.gurufocus.com/download_financials_in_CSV.php?symbol=AAPL")

All I get is one line "Downloaded from GuruFocus.com....."

None of the other cells populate. I think it has something to do with defining the array and I am not sure how to go about it. I did logon to the site through Excel. Can you let me know what I might be doing wrong. If you have a version that is working can you post it.

Thx
Neil

My guess would be that you're not array-entering the formula over a range?

Otherwise, it may no longer be a prepared file that is available for
download. They may prepare when you execute that URL.
