Randy, thanks, you are awesome, you always are helpful.

I bought the new computer basically because all my friends, told me I should. I hope I like it, the learning curve has me a little bit put off, but I will work through it.

I like windows xp and ms office 2007, I hope I like windows 8.1 and ms office 2010?

Randy, I just wanted to check with you first, before I put your smf addin on.

What you do is so over my head, I am amazed at what you can do. It is so technical.

I bought an external drive over the weekend, and I plan to move the old files to the new computer sometime this week...ouch!

Thanks,
rr76012

Hello Randy,
I had old file where I have this link
RCHGetTableCell("http://www.smartmoney.com/quote/"&Ticker&";/?story=financials&timewindow=2&opt=YI",5,"Income
Statement (Non-Cumulative)",$B7

is this still a working link? or has it been updated. I would appreciate
your help

When I try a version of your URL:

http://www.smartmoney.com/quote/MMM/?story=financials&timewindow=2&opt=YI

...I get redirected to::

http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/MMM/financials

I don't know if that page has what you need or not. It may have a
completely different structure and line items may be defined differently.

Yes that's where the page is getting redirected. Actually what I am trying
to do is update the document so that I get the 10 year financial data for
companies.
I thought just updating the link would work but seems like its bit more
than that.
I would appreciate if you can tell me better ways to get 10 years worth of
financials.
regards
Aku

Take a look at the templates for GuruFocus or AdvFN. Although AdvFN data
hasn't been great lately.

MorningStar also has 10 years of data for members:

=smfGetCSVFile("
http://financials.morningstar.com/ajax/exportKR2CSV.html?t=MMM")

See the "Tips and FAQs" page for more details on Morningstar offerings.

Randy,
I do not have Morningstar subscription but I do get the data through
library for free
is there a way I can use that link?

Sorry to ask so many questions-

I tried this in excel
=smfGetCSVFile("http://financials.morningstar.com/
ajax/exportKR2CSV.html?t=GOOG")
This is the reply I got "Growth Profitability and Financial Ratios for
Google Inc Class C"

All in one cell, this could be because I did not have paid subscription. Do
I need to be paid member to get this data?
through my library membership I could download CSV files but for each
company I had to do 3 times. once for each data,BS, CF, IS

I would appreciate your help

You need to array-enter the formula over a range...
