Not easily. It needs to be extracted from JavaScript code. For example:

=smfConvertData(smfstrExtr(smfWord(smfWord(RCHGetWebData("
http://www.estimize.com/ebay/fq1-2014
","estimize_eps_mean",5000),3,"estimize_eps_mean"),2,":"),"~",","))

...varying that "3" parameter from 3 to 11 for the various columns of the
table, and varying the "2" parameter as 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18
for the various rows of data. Note that the "3" parameter needs to be
decremented by 1 for "2" value of 16 thru 18. So:

*3* *4* *5* *6* *7* *8* *9* *10* *11* *16* FQ2 2012 FQ3 2012 FQ4 2012 FQ1
2013 FQ2 2013 FQ3 2013 FQ4 2013 FQ1 2014 FQ2 2014 *2* $0.57 $0.56 $0.70

$0.80 $0.67 $0.69 *17* $0.56 $0.55 $0.70 $0.63 $0.63 $0.64 $0.81 $0.70 null
*10* 16.67% 14.58% 16.67% 14.55% 12.50% 16.36% 15.71% 11.11% null
*16* FQ2 2012 FQ3 2012 FQ4 2012 FQ1 2013 FQ2 2013 FQ3 2013 FQ4

Hello,

This email message is a notification to let you know that
a file has been uploaded to the Files area of the smf_addin

File : /Uploads by forum members/BTMA Stock Analyzer (free for smf_addin group)
Uploaded by : g_oudreva <lottidottigigliotti@hotmail.com>
Description : This commercially-sold stock analyzer usually sells for $69, but you can get it for free here. It's all automated and can analyze, compare, and sort the entire S&P 500, or thousands of other stocks with a click of a button. It seems to pull info from ADVFN and Yahoo Finance, etc. and uses the smf_addin. It's saved me a great deal of time in analyzing. You need to enter this password: OpenSesame

my personal opinion, this is not a simple spreadsheet. it will ask you
delete esisiting SMF add and runs an installer.
then when you finish all the it will ask you to open the file created as
shortcut on your desktop.
once you click on that it will give you activation code, you have to copy
that code and go to his website. Enter the code, first name, last name and
e-mail ID.
then it will generate another code which you have to enter the spreadsheet
pop up to activate it.
then you will get a mail asking to confirm you e-mail subscription with
this subject "
"stockspreadsheetclass3month"

this appears like a free 3 month trial and as such spreadsheet is very slow
and crashes few times and not the greatest to use.

other templates on SMF site are far better and intuitive than this one

Because it's an installer, and not a workbook, I've deleted it from the
files area. I was already considering deleting it because it was
advertising a commercial product.

Thanks for letting me know.

I'm getting an error message when I try bring in any of data from 14311 to 14343. I'm able to bring in other data from Morningstar so I know I'm connected properly to their website but I get an error for this data. The formula I'm using is: =RCHGetElementNumber(TICKER,14342)

Any ideas as to why? Thanks.

I just opened up the "SMF-Template-Morningstar-Key-Ratios.xls" template
from the website, entered ticker symbol MMM, and everything looks fine to
me.

Do you have the current element definitions? Those were last updated in
November of last year.

I've been an avid & happy user of this Add-in for a couple of years.
I recently updated my computer to Windows 7 Pro and Office 2013 (previously used Vista and Office 2007)

Everything working great....Except....

I have one spreadsheet with LOTS of data that takes a long time to update. While it updates I typically work on other stuff.
For Excel: I discovered I can open a true new window of Excel and am able to work on it (using excel.exe /x)

But, For Word: it freezes.
So, while the Excel sheet is updating, Word 2013 is frozen. can't do anything.
I'm not sure if this relates to the Addin or just Microsoft, but was hoping someone might have a solution. (note, I never used to have this problem with Vista / Office 2007 setup)

I did figure out that Opening a SAFE version of Word gets around this (winword /safe).... which apparently prevents addins from opening (perhaps this is the best work around solution, but doesn't have all the normal Word features).

Thanks,
Steve

actually, just to clarify, the winword /safe command line is able to open a safe version of Word, but still freezes up when trying to work on files [again, only when the Excel Add-in is busy updating data]

I think this may be caused by the RCHGetURLData1() routine in modUtilities
- it is doing a blocking XMLHTTP Open.

One possible fix is highlighted in yellow. Just be sure you back up
your RCH_Stock_Market_Functions.xla before modifying this routine. I've
tested this on Excel 2007.

Andrei

Public Function RCHGetURLData1(pURL As String, _
Optional ByVal pType As String = "GET") As String

When I was playing with Asynchronous calls, I made a similar change. I was
surprised at how much more freedom there was in navigation of the workbooks
while the macro was running.

Of course, true asynchronous processing would require a massive change.

One thing that would be really cool, but seems impossible in VBA, is to
parallelize some of the URL downloads.

I have been lately looking at Python, which has similar ability to download
stock data from web pages (albeit I could not find a package as neatly
maintained as SMF). In Python, it's possible to spawn a pool of background
threads doing the page download in parallel. There's even a Python module
called 'pandas' that mimicks Excel table functionality.

In Excel, however, parallelism is limited - there's no API for multi
threading. At best, threads can be mimicked, but that indeed requires
radical redesign - and may not be portable to all versions of Excel.

Where Excel shines is in ease of spreadsheet setup, and graphing
capabilities. In Python, that has to be all coded on the back end, and
that's not as flexible as dragging and dropping formulas across rows and
colums in Excel. So perhaps Excel is still the simplest and most effective
of the two.

Randy,
I have been successfully using your SMF Add-in formulas for the past 4 months to populate 17 data fields for over 3,500 stocks in my StockEvaluator.xls spreadsheet, and for over 1,500 mutual funds in my MutualFundEvaluator.xls spreadsheet. I run macros with DO loops that re-calculate the values of each cell one by one in both of my spreadsheets.

I refresh all the data on the weekend and post both spreadsheets to my free website Ultimate Stock Finder Home http://www.ultimatestockfinder.com/ . I have 200 followers to my free weekly Investment Idea Sharing newsletter.

This would not be possible without your wonderful and POWERFUL Stock Market Functions Add-in .

Thank you very much!! Your work is appreciated!!
