Hi,

Thanks for your work in providing this Add-In.

I'm interested in Australian Stocks. Is the same data going to appear for ASX?

Based on ASX stocks I don't get the same data.

Cheers

What data is available will be entirely dependent on which data source you
are using. And, in many cases, it will also make a difference which ticker
symbol you need to use.

For example, Yahoo uses AIO.AX instead of ASX:AIO.

Hi,

First of all thank you very much for creating and maintaining this forum and the stock market function add-ins. I have been using the =RCHGetElementNumber() function constantly and it has made my life much easier when it comes to data gathering. This time however I wanted to extract a larger set of data for which I believe the above mentioned function is not quiet appropriate. I'd like to extract the 5 years of financial statements and the 10 year key ratios table from the morningstar website, but I can't seem to find a relatively simple way to accomplish that. Are there any ways to extract the data automatically into an excel spreadsheet? Preferably I would like to figure out a way to set up a constant table where I can just switch out the ticker and the data would update. Is this possible at all?

Thank you.

Have a great day.

Use this to extract Key Ratios
=smfGetCSVFile("
http://financials.morningstar.com/ajax/exportKR2CSV.html?t=MMM")

In addition to the export file already mentioned, check out these templates:

Thank you very much for the quick response. When I attempt to use the formula given above (=smfGetCSVFile........), the only result I get is "Growth Profitability and Financial Ratios for 3M Co". All I have done is copied the formula from here into an excel spreadsheet. Does the size of the copy area need to be specified? Or can I just copy the formula into a single cell?

Thank you very much

You need to array-enter the formula over a range. If you enter it into a
single cell, it will just return the data in the first row and column of
the returned array of data.

Hi,

I am attempting to replicate the code you mentioned above in order to pull key ratios and financial statements from morningstar. Unfortunately I haven't had much luck yet as every time I enter the formula from this forum and add my own ticker, all I get as the result is the title of "Growth Profitability and Financial Ratios" or the financial statement titles. I haven't been able to figure out how to specify the table cells for the values. Could you please help me out? Do you have any suggestions regarding how to approach this task?

Thanks in advance

Is there a way to pull the option data from say a website like this
http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/ewc/option-chain?dateindex=-1 http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/ewc/option-chain?dateindex=-1

Say the Last Price , change and the bid and ask.

I find that website like yahoo, msn, google and even option express have incorrect options data pricing. This is just to answer the question why i don't use the smfgetoptionquotes data to get data.

Just on a side not is there some way to donate to Randy, he has helped me a ton and he least deserve some beer money or if don't drink beer coffee or tea money.

Thomas

Sure. Just use the "option symbol" and a 1 thru 6 for the various data
items. For example:

=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/ewc/option-chain?dateindex=-1
",1,"140621C00030000")

That's more or less what every smfGetOptionQuotes() call ends up doing, for
the other services.

Thanks, but I don't accept donations -- just pay it forward and make a
donation to a worthy charity. You'll get a tax deduction out of it as well.
:)

An example would be the Sep 20, 2014 Strike Price 31 ; The Call and Put Last price or Bid and ask price
