Then you're using it wrong. Unless you show me what you're doing, it's hard to tell what #VALUE! is coming from. Did you use the evaluate formula process? It should have told you where the error originates.

My patience is wearing thin. Too many of these are simple EXCEL things. You need to take a class on EXCEL before tackling something like this with the add-in, which requires advanced concepts.

We all take advantage of Randy's generosity. But you have gone to extremes.
You need to do an internet search for "excel education free"
Tons of it out there.
You have ask over 50 questions and have not provided any worthwhile supporting data.

Give us all a break and quit asking basic excel questions. Take the time to learn

Sorry for the bluntness but you got to do your homework, then ask questions.
Provide examples.

Good luck

Yep, I saw your photos
Unfortunately they don't tell that much. Better if you attach the spreadsheet. That way more folks may offer assistance

You might want to print the addin documentation it was a big help to me. I prefer hard copy so I can make note in it.

Good luck, hope it is working for you now.

Subject: Error message in worksheet

Hi Randy,

First, let me thank you for all your hard work building this wonderful add in.

I am having trouble, however, with the RCHGetElementNumber (Yahoo Finance) function. It is inconsistent in that it brings back the data for some stocks, but others it does not, even though I have verified on Yahoo Finance that the stock is listed. Please see the attachment. I have tried everything I can find to fix the problem, including settings in Internet Explorer, etc. I am using Windows 7 64 bit with Excel 2010. I would appreciate any feedback you might be able to provide. It behaves identically regardless of browser used (Chrome or IE).

Thanks,

Charlie

I tired all of the IRDM items, and they worked fine.

One thought -- how much data are you retrieving? The add-in is designed for
ad hoc data retrieval, not wholesale database building, so any requests
that go beyond 1000 web pages will return "Error".

That's because the add-in retrieves and stores a saved copy of a web page
first, then extracts the data from that saved copy of the web page -- so
that it only needs to get the web page once if 10 extractions come from the
same web page. However, there are ONLY 1000 slots for saving web pages. So,
anything above that will fail to retrieve a web page, and any extractions
based on it will result in "Error".

BTW, the browser you use is irrelevant. It's just that the add-in uses the
MicroSoft Internet engines, so shares all of the same libraries and
settings as IE -- another MicroSoft product.

The formula using OptionSource had been working fine. All of the sudden it does not work with any of my options. It gives me Error probably because I am using IFerror as the formula. I have tried Yahoo and Google as the source but nothing seems to work.

I'll need an example of a function invocation that is returning error...

It does appear that Yahoo options pages are returning no options data right
now for XMLHTTP calls, but I did get something from Google:

=smfGetOptionQuotes("MMM 2/12 2016 $150 Call","a",,"Y")
=smfGetOptionQuotes("MMM 2/12 2016 $150 Call","a",,"G")

The first returned "Error", the second returned 4.45.

Hopefully, just a temporary issue for Yahoo.
