Hi Randy,

Did Gurufocus do something to disable SMF from working on their site? Or did they just modify all their cell names so that it's just my spreadsheet that's not working?
I know they frequently change the names of cells/info and I've fixed them and moved on, but now, none of them work.

I tried their plug-in and quite frankly, it sucks. It's slow. It takes forever to load. You have to log-in every time you open Excel. If you modify several cells at once, i.e. copy-and-paste, the spreadsheet hangs up. And sometimes, the cells simply don't work.
I uninstalled it and I'm still getting pop-up messages on start-up that disappear before I can read them.

Anyone else having issues, that they've been able to fix after trying their plug-in? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jim

I changed the add-in extraction code in the middle of last month, but they
had changed the website before that. It took me a while post-hospital to
get to the issue.

I just checked the first few line items on the "all items" template, and it
was returning data.

That fixed it. Thanks very much Randy.

Your add-in works so much better than theirs!

Best regards,
Jim

The thing that kept me away from theirs is the limits they have on data
requests.

With Yahoo about to be sold, am considering backup options in the event Yahoo Finance API services are discontinued by the new owner. How can I direct the RCH functions to read from Barchart.com API data?

The only API I've used of theirs is for option quotes. I had to write a
special function to extract data from the API feed because it's in JSON
format. But it is doable.

What API feeds are you aware of?
