Hi all,

I have two issues. The first is I used to have a web data query in excel 2010 that I would feed it a date and it would perform a web query to download a list of companies that had earnings for that date from Yahoo's earnings calendar. This has worked for years for me with minor adjustments when Yahoo changed things around. Well Yahoo finally made a major change and my once reliable web query will no longer work and the antiquated web browser in excel throws up so many errors when just loading a page from Yahoo it is laughable.

Does anyone know of another way to accomplish what I was previously doing with the earnings calendar?

Second issue is with excel 2010 where when I open it and try to use my SMF add-in I get an error that the functions are not available. I go to look at my add-ins and SMF is there, checked and happy. The work around I have been doing is uncheck the SMF add-in. Close excel. Open excel. Go to add-ins. Check SMF. Now SMF functions are ready to use again. This is an annoyance that I have tried to figure out and didn't know if others are having the same issue? I also have the ValuSoft add-in for excel and excel seems to be fine with it and does not "forget" the functions used in that add-in.

Thanks!

Sorry, but I can't get the add-in to return any data from the Yahoo
earnings calendar pages.

As far as the other problem, that may be the issue that occurred in July of
last year because MicroSoft issued some security updates. It's not letting
EXCEL load the add-in when EXCEL starts up. As a result, you are getting
link errors, because EXCEL can't resolve the links to the add-in.

For a workaround suggested by Microsoft, until they fix the issue, see:

Thanks Randy,

As far as the earnings calendar I kinda figured you could not get the add-in to return the companies reporting earnings on a particular date. That's why I had a web query doing it for me. I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there doing the same thing I was so I could try using their source/method.

Thanks for the help on the excel security issue. I'm trying the options out and it seemed to break more (some custom functions I wrote will not work now).

I'll keep hacking at it.

Thanks!

Aaron
