I just updated the add-in to the latest version but am having trouble with #NAME? error. When I browse the link it appears that Excel is referencing the add-in "C:\Users...." instead of "C:\SMF Add-In..." Can fix link but it doesn't stay saved. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Those references are within the saved workbook. You can check to see where
the add-in location is indicated by the add-in manager, with:

=RCHGetElementNumber("Version")

Maybe this is completely off base, but if the local setting is for decimals to be thousands separators, Excel could treat the Yahoo values as text and not recognize them as numbers. My only other guess is that user's default cell format is "text" and not "general".

When I look at that worksheet, the
values being returned by VLOOKUP() *are* numeric values. If
I apply a numeric format to them, the format gets applied.
That wouldn't happen if EXCEL had them as a string
value. Also, ISTEXT() is giving me FALSE
I have no experience with EXCEL
2016. I use Office365.
I just don't understand how
EXCEL is acting so differently for you...

Hi Randy,

So I'm pretty sure that Yahoo just made another change last night (Aug 8) that added back Unadjusted as well as Adjusted historical closing prices. So now when we use current version of smfgetpricebydates, it pulls up UNADJUSTED ones, so we get price returns only and not total returns.

Not sure what that means for the add-in, if you can just revert back to prior version to make it work like it did before with C and A data fields.

Thanks for all your work man!

Denis

So I updated to add-in file from 7/12 and it seems to be working fine now. I just don't know why SPY returns with the 6/9 add-in changed overnight from Total Return to Price Only returns...

Thanks for checking!
