I'm trying to log back into GuruFocus but Alt d+d+w is not bringing up the IE Object. Is there another way?

Unfortunately, it varies significantly between versions of EXCEL. It used
to be whatever option brings up an EXCEL query from the web. But I think
more recent versions of EXCEL may be straying from the IE object as it used
to be? It may no longer be interactive, and may not allow logging in.

From what I see here, it appears you can add a "From Web (Legacy)" icon to
your quick access toolbar:

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/f3099495-eba9-4600-85c5-131257564c82/get-data-from-web-with-authentication-connection-error

Specifically, this image on the page:

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/getfile/1152061

When I add that to my QAT, it does the same as keyboard shortcut alt+d+d+w.
The only question I have is if your version of EXCEL still allows using the
legacy version of the process?

This image from that page seems to indicate you can toggle that option on
the "Data" tab of the ribbon:

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/getfile/1239242

But, again, that may no longer be available in your version of EXCEL?
However, if it is, I'm wondering if that would enable the keyboard
shortcut? In any case, if you can add the option to the QAT or the "Data"
tab, you wouldn't need the keyboard shortcut...

Wow, thanks. It worked, took me a while to get it to let me enter my username and password but finally got in. I have a subscription so I have the latest edition of excel.

The shortcut Alt d+d+w did not work. I had to add it to the ribbon and go from there.
