Yeah, I've had that happen before! I was just fooling around in a workbook and went to a cell with like, 3 letters and at least halfway down the column or so. I wrote something there, then forgot to remove it. When I saved it, the file size was incredibly large! I went back and removed the contents and formatting, then saved the workbook at about it's normal size.
I also played around after that, making "A1" a data cell and the very LAST cell in the workbook a data cell. I then made that into a range, and even with just those two it made for a good sized file. Sometimes I would add something around the middle, just to see what would happen. I can only imagine what a FULL page would save at (Assuming one had the resources). Sometimes it would crash on me before I could do more than a few calculations.
