Would someone please confirm the calculation for annual FCF, element 6596? I want to use this value, but it is not reporting the same number as what is available elsewhere. Using msft as an example, FCF for Y1 using the element is 12.8BN, yet as reported here (http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/msft/financials/cash-flow), its 22.94BN. Any ideas?

Just uploaded the fixed and enhanced Yahoo CSV Feed Parameter List to "Files
> Uploads by forum members". Here is the link to the file:

mbers/Yahoo%20Parameter%20List%20%281-30-13%29.xls>

As mentioned previously, the parameters marked with an asterisk are not
recognized by the SMF add-in when you ask it to return column headings. It
will return the data if you do not request column headings. If you use one
of these parameters in a RCHGetYahooQuotes() formula, and request the
function to return column headings, the data being retrieved will get out of
sync with the column headings. Most of these parameters are of no real
value anyway.

Enjoy!

Please disregard this list for now. There are some errors in it that I need

Subject: [smf_addin] Yahoo CSV Feed Parameter List

The following is a complete list of Yahoo CSV Feed Parameters, based on
multiple sources, as of Jan 28, 2013.

The parameters marked with an asterisk are not recognized by the SMF add-in
(as of Jan 28, 2013). If you use one of these in a RCHGetYahooQuotes()
function, where you are also requesting column headings, the data being
retrieved will get out of sync with the column headings.

Randy,

The Federal Reserve database has become a very large and important collection of stocks, markets, and economic data.

http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/

Could you add a function to get the data from their API page?
The format is detailed here, not very complicated.

http://api.stlouisfed.org/docs/fred/series_observations.html

We just want to be able to get the time series (with dates) from the webpage into Excel cells.

Thank you very much.

Randy,

I just found that you have smfGetEconData, but does it only return data for one specific date?

Could you make a function to get the whole time series in one function call just like RCHGetHTMLTable where we can use an array function?

I asked because for high frequency data like SP500, if we want to get 50 years of history, using smfGetEconData will be too resource consuming because it needs tens of thousand functions running at the same time.

Thank you very much.

A problem arises -- the API Key would be exposed in my VBA code, since it
is open source.

You can get the whole time series with something like:

=smfGetCSVFile("https://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/data/SP500.csv")

I am currently using the FRED excel addin for FRED econ data.

However I would very much prefer to use Randy's add-in.

If only smfgetcsvfile can sort most recent dates at the top, it will be useful.

I wonder if there is any simple way to do that?

Thanks

Nothing simple. You could use VBA to place values onto the worksheet, and
then sort them.
