It's just a matter of using Yahoo's special "ticker symbol" with the
RCHGetYahooQuotes() function. For example:

=RCHGetYahooQuotes("USDCAD=X","l1")

=RCHGetYahooQuotes("CADUSD=X","l1")

As far as I know, Yahoo doesn't carry historical data for exchange rates.

Try the RCHGetTableCell-Template-Pacific-Exchange-Rate.xls template from
the FILES area of the Yahoo group. I think it allows going back for four
years of data.

Do a search on the message archives and you may find something. I don't do
exchange rates myself, so I'm not familiar with other data sources. But as
I said, as far as I know, Yahoo doesn't have historical data for exchange
rates.

Randy, Did IBD reformat their site? All my data points just say error. I checked your template and it also says errors through out.

Thanks, Mark

I just tried the template from the web site's Templates page, and it's
working fine for me.

Make sure you're logged in correctly to the IBD website, using the EXCEL
Web Query dialog.

Hi Randy,

I found some interesting data on GuruFocus, and implemented the beta add-in to retrieve some of it. The sheet posted on the ogres website (smfGetGuruFocusItem-Full-Template.xls http://ogres-crypt.com/SMF/Works-In-Progress/smfGetGuruFocusItem-Full-Template.xls) works great through Item 137, but each Item thereafter retrieves all errors. Are you seeing the same thing?

Thanks (as always),
Brent

I just tried the template from the web site, using ticker symbol MMM, and
items 138 thru 172 worked fine for me. I wouldn't expect 173 thru 185 to
work for MMM, since they are data items for financial companies.

But items 173 thru 185 work fine for me using ticker symbol WFC, although
some other data items no longer did, since they don't apply to financial
companies.

However, data items 138 and up are only available to subscribers. Are you
not logged in, or not a subscriber? I was hoping those data items would
return "Premium" instead of "Error" for those two situations.
