Hi Randy,
First of all, thank you for your insightful comments and patience in
providing such a valuable add-in to the financial arena and for answering
the wide array of questions ... some good some bad.
Unfortunately, I seem to be having the same Zacks data error problems as
Andy. Even though I have downloaded all of the file updates, the 2 data
errors as shown below persist.
=RCHGetElementNumber(Ticker, 848) Zacks Rank
and
=RCHGetElementNumber(Ticker, 13873) Zacks Recommendation
Everything seems to work except these two data retrievals. Is there a trick
to get this to work properly? Yes, I am a registered Zacks Premium member
and have logged in to my account in another window.
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
David N.

Randy,
Wow! I learned something new again!
Both the excel statements in your email and the excel statements in my
email work correctly in Excel 2010 but they all produce errors and do not
work in Excel 2003. That issue is a major revelation to me, and I am sure
that many other users were unaware of that limitation. Many data retrieval
calls probably exceed the limit to which you referred.
Thanks again for all that you do so tirelessly and your quick solution to
my dilemma.

For a Value perpective, I would like to try to screen for Net Net Working Capital where
NNWC = Cash & Equivalents + Accounts Receivables + Inventory - Total Liabilities
Are there smf element codes for a symbol's --
Cash & Equivalents
Current Assets (I'm not sure if this is the same as Cash & Equivalents)
Accounts Receivables
Inventory
Total Liabilities
Thanks a lot for your help.

The add-in really isn't a screening tool. I don't want people creating
databases by downloading data on a large number of stocks from the free
services. It just gives them an incentive to prevent things like the add-in
from being able to access the data. If you want a database screening tool,
I'd suggest looking at either AAII's Stock Investor Pro or Portfolio123.com.
Having said that, you can grab the items you need. However, you'll need to
know your data source. For example, Yahoo includes "Restricted Cash" in
their definition of "Cash & Equivalents".
Ideally, what you should do is use an online screening tool to get you down
to a workable set of stocks, and then use the add-in to grab the details on
that small subset of stocks.

hai randy - sory bothering you again :D
i have founnd, that i compared have Reuters and FT.com with WSJ, WSJ is the best data provider, over accuracy and data update.
but i have trouble here.
i am using rchgettable here :
=RCHGetTableCell("http://quotes.wsj.com/ID/XIDX/UNTR/financials/annual/income-statement ",1,"Sales/Revenue")
but the questian is, how to make it become refreshable link for other ticker.
i tried to make formula but return "error", here the formula :
=RCHGetTableCell("http://quotes.wsj.com/ID/XIDX/=A1/financials/annual/income-statement ",1,"Sales/Revenue")
"=A1" refers to ticker i want to put ( UNTR)
thank you very much :D

Just normal EXCEL concatenation -- this is just one string:
You need to concatenate three strings:
A1
"/financials/annual/income-statement"
So:
"http://quotes.wsj.com/ID/XIDX/ " & A1 &
"/financials/annual/income-statement"

Hi All,
I ve installed latest version of add-in posted here. I tested it and its working fine too. Now I need to know how to bring out the company's financial details while using the add-in, since the link that you provided (moneycentral.msn.com) was not based on Indian companies. For example, if i want to check for Indian origin companies like shriram transport finance, MCX, Ashok Leyland etc. how can I perform the add-in to know the ticker symbol of it. Kindly help me in this regard ASAP as this is the last step of my work on add-in. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Ashwin

I don't do anything with non-US companies, so I can't be of help in
pointing out resources.
If you have a site you use, I'd suggest searching the message archives of
the group to see if it has been discussed in the past.

I installed the latest version of SMF add-in. I tested and it's working fine too. Now I need to start using it. When seeing the sample data given for company like Johnson & Johnson, IBM etc. the add-in works with the function =RCHGetElem

What did you try with RCHGetTableCell()? I can't be of any help without the
particulars of what you're trying to extract and from where.
And, as I mentioned, you can always search the message archives of the
group to see if the website you're interested in using has been discussed
before.
