Re: [ExcelVBA] Adding an Add-in to Tool Bar in MS Excel 2007 after install of add-in

Funny...
I thought the potential snicker(s) were for the DEEP VOICE I heard when reading
your question!
(re: Barry White, "You See the Trouble with Me" and "What Am I Gonna Do with
You" would both be good titles for your question!)

Many companies (large and small) are slow to upgrade to new versions.
Usually because they have a large investment and don't want to deal with
"retraining".

In MY case, the company has a great deal of customization, which requires
extensive testing and validation.
Sometimes, a year or more can go by just in testing, validation and fixing
anything that doesn't work.
Then, it's no small task to upgrade 2,000 computers!

--------------------
The add-in manager itself can be found under the "File" tab.

Unfortunately, I think Microsoft really messed up with how they handled making
them available.
All of your add-ins appear under..
(drumroll please)
"Add-ins"

They're really small, and all the work you've done to make them presentable is
wasted.

That's another reason companies and individuals are singing "Never, Never Gonna
Give You Up" (Barry White, 1974)
Now..
If you want to REALLY get into some customization,
you can use XML to create new menus and icons and re-create your add-ins.

I've not done it myself.  and I'm told that there HAVE been some tools created
to facilitate the process.
However, if using XML, you must save your file as .xlsm.
Which, is often times MUCH larger than (my preferred) .xlsb file format.

Subject: [ExcelVBA] Adding an Add-in to Tool Bar in MS Excel 2007 after install
of add-in

Okay, get all the laughter out of system now.  I'll wait and give you a
moment.........OK ready?

The company I work for just got MS Office 2007.  We upgraded from MS Office
2000. (insert snickers here).
Obviously, there's these "new" things called ribbons in this version.

In the 2000 or 2003 office version all you had were drop down menus, and after
installing various add-ins to Excel ,

you could go to the tools menu I believe, and click on the square for adding a
specific add-in to your tool bar,

so that once selected it would actually display as a GUI and be part of your
existing tool bar.

How do I find this menu list in the 2007 version of MS Excel if I want to add,
an add-in to my tool bar?  Does anyone know how to get to this list of add-ins
in 2007 Office?

Sigh...never mind that 2013 Office is coming out soon....

Merry Christmas and Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays everyone.
