Thanks for responding.

I was able to fix it by incorporating the ticker table that someone else uploaded. I can send you a copy of what I did if you want. Basically, the table is a list of securities with the corresponding what exchange it is on. I used a vlookup to pull the exchange data for advfn and it seems to be working.

The other problem I've encountered is years not pulling for certain companies. For example, if you look at DLB, years 2009 through 2011 are blank. Any idea how to fix this?

Also, I was wondering, do you know how to add the latest quarterly data to your RCHGETHTMLTABLE tab?

SJM would be another example where you see certain years drop off.

Has anyone else been having problems with getting quotes from Yahoo recently? I have array entered =RCHGetYahooQuotes for about 35 tickers, and up until last week it has been running fine, takes about 10 - 15 seconds to return prices. However, last week it started to return prices very slowly. It could take 5 minutes or more now. Sometimes it would return all blanks for last price and previous price. Any ideas why?

Not me. I have about 100 tickers array entered and it routinely takes less than 1 second to retrieve them all.

Not any changes today or recently.

Your "good" time of 10-15 seconds for 35 tickers seems awfully long - are you sure they are array-entered? And, is that the only
thing you are retrieving?

Sorry, that 10 - 15 second range included the entire spreadsheet calculations and (some) other retrievals. The actual array entered retrieval is near instant (I had those columns hidden, so I did not see their retrieval). I will have to start diagnosing spreadsheet through process of elimination. Strange it only started slowing down last week.

I have the same problem which started in the same timeframe. I am using Windows 7 Professional - 64 bit, and Excel 2010. Beyond my control there were new upgrades made to Excel this weekend which is when the problem go so bad that spreadsheets are unable to load approx. 150 data values from Yahoo. Also, about 10 days before that EXCEL was upgraded to Service Pack 2 - I can't say that it was slower at that point but it was not failing like it is now. Does this match with any software maintenance you have recently completed? I am think that I may try to get last weekend's changes backed out.

Same problem as flangeneral for about a week, with Excel 2003 or 2010; on table with ~45 symbols random fields return "error". Copy/pasting an individual cell to force recalc may also give error.

Replaced cranky modem, no improvement. In the past have had slow response, blamed on ATT, but this is new.

Could it be related to the several Win 7 x64 updates last week? Yahoo system? The add-in has not changed.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I use Windows 7 Home Premium with Excel 2007. Similar problem popped up. Last week, I applied @17 updates, including 2 security updates for MS Office 2007 suites. They were KB2850022 and KB2817641. Fortunately, I always take an Image Backup before installing updates. Hopefully, I can backout just the two without having to do an image restore.

Uninstalled the two updates specified above, but the problem remains, although it is intermittent. I have a workbook with six different arrays, each in a separate worksheet, using GetYahooQuotes. Usually the book opens and all arrays are updated almost instantly, but the last time I opened the book, one array showed 'Error' and SmfForceRecalc was necessary.. This afternoon, near the market close, the whole book hung up for 30-45 seconds to several minutes before retrieving all the data. A few times I had to kill Excel because it wasn't responding..

I don't think that this problem is related to the M/S updates. A Yahoo issue is more likely. .

Randy,

I wrote you earlier about this problem. You said you need to know the invocation. I do not know how to explain it vividly to you. Please take a look at a snapshot of the results here. The outcome is not in the same row as that of the ticker. And there is no pattern so that I can figure out what is the problem. Please advise. Thanks a lot!

All data returned by FinViz is sorted. You can control which field to sort
on, but as far as I know, there's no option to have the data returned in
the same order as tickers that are selected. So you'll need to have the
ticker symbol returned in the data. I believe the default sort order is on
ticker symbol.

Hello everyone,
I was doing a search and didn't seem like anyone brought this up. If you look at ADVFN's Quarterly Data starting from 2013 and on, it appears the data is coming out incorrectly from their website.

For example, Compare the Quarterly Revenue Numbers from ADVFN with GuruFocus.
AAPL: Revenue for June/13 on ADVFN is not the same as GuruFocus.

BA: Revenue seems to be compounding with the previous quarter starting from June/13. GuruFocus is reporting the 3 month quarterly results.

It doesn't seem like an Add-In issue more like ADVFN data is incorrect. Please let me know if you are also seeing the same problem. Thank you.
