Start by reading the documentation. Then build a list of the elements you need. Layout the format for the spreadsheet.
Then search the element definition file for the best fit.

Don't try to do it all at once. Code a few simple elements and build on it.

You have not provided enough info for anyone to help you.
But if you look thru the excel files and templates I think you might be surprised to find they already exist.
Just not in the exact format you might want.

The MSN elements are now all obsolete, because MSN designed their website
late last year and dropped almost every data item from their web pages.

Building something like those reports would be a major task. And I'm not
sure it would be worth it. Why PRESENT such data in EXCEL, when you can
just go to web pages to see it presented that way? It's just too much data
to be of much value. You need to condense it down to the few items that are
of particular interest to you. Try to get it to a one page display. You can
always add hyperlinks to the web pages if you want to see more details.

As Kermit suggested, you may want to look at some of the templates. They
have a lot of raw data presentation, so you can cut and paste the data
items you want to pick up.

Note that you may have unresolved links, because of how EXCEL handles
workbooks saved by someone else with a different setup. You can use the
smfFixLinks macro that is within the add-in to automatically clean up any
unresolved links from location errors.

Hi, I am trying to use the Google Finance workbooks Add-in on a Windows 8 computer with Office 2007 but I just receive error messages. I use the same spreadsheet on a Windows 7 computer and it works fine.

Is there something particular that I should do to make it work on Windows 8?

Thanks very much

Some people that were getting errors found the AdvFN fix also fixed the
Google problem:

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/smf_addin/conversations/messages/10464

I think it's because of Google changing from "http:" to "https:", which
causes a redirection to occur.

For example:

=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.google.com/finance?q=MMM",1,">P/E")
=RCHGetTableCell("https://www.google.com/finance?q=MMM",1,">P/E")

If you need the fix, the first formula above will give an error result and
the second will return the P/E value.
