Strangest thing.

My spreadsheet draws from many websites. However, since this weekend, it will only draw from Yahoo and FINVIZ exclusively.

I tried the smfForceRecalculation but didn't work. I tried the IE option to retrive new page, but it always revert back to automatically. Microsoft claim it is my Antivirus software, so than I tried using Chrome and got the same Errors.

Is there a way to manually clear the cache?

Thanks,

John

I'm not sure what you mean by "tried using Chrome" since it would be
totally irrelevant to EXCEL and the add-in, which use the same Microsoft
Internet engine as IE.

To manually delete cached data in the Temporary Internet Files, see:

Randy,

Thanks for the reply.

Your suggestion was one of the first things I tried after going to the IE option as suggested in the documentation.

The Microsoft Support Community suggested that my Antivirus was causing the IE to revert back to the "automatically" setting everytime I set it to the new page setting. Not knowing that all browsers uses the same engine, I thought if I changed to Chrome It would fix the problem.

They suggested but do not recommend editing the registry. Should I go with their advice?

It isn't that all browsers share the same engines, but that IE and EXCEL do
-- because they are both MicroSoft products.

I've never been a fan of editing the registry. Too often, it's just asking
for trouble.

Have you made sure the Antivirus software behavior can't be changed? Maybe
it has a setting for how to handle "Temporary Internet Files". I would
think ANY financial use of a browser would require fresh content any time
you visit a web page. You would not want an old copy of data and/or prices,
be it within EXCEL or within a browser.

I am suspicious of the behavior you suggest occurring everywhere EXCEPT
Yahoo and FinViz.

Randy,

Is there a way I can attached you my spreadsheet?

I am wondering if there might be a disruption of the feed because my smartphone Bloomberg app is also out.

Thanks,

I send attachments to my messages all the time...

How to do it would depend on your email client. But even the "New Topic"
button on the Yahoo group brings up an editor with an attach button
(farthest one on the right).

Not sure what relationship there would be, if any, between the add-in and a
smartphone app though?
