[ExcelVBA] Re: HowTo Configure Excel under Win7

I don't know how to tell whether they use Roaming Profiles. I expect so, only because when you log in there is an AppData directory which has three subdirectories: Local, ?LocalLow (or something like that), and Roaming. Excel creates a 2K .pip file in the Roaming directory structure when it runs. However, this file does not change when Excel gets reconfigured (configure the add-in and enable macros), so it looks like that is not where these settings are stored.

I do not know what server they run (I don't have access to any of their systems). Is there some way to determine this from the client end? I am confident it is something relatively recent, although maybe not the latest and greatest. We tend not to be leading edge on upgrades, as you can see from just now starting to install Win7 client systems.

So, these Roaming Profiles - how would one configure the Add-Ins for the users? I assume there is an admin app that configures things somehow? Or, they configure things for one user and then capture those settings somehow?

And yes, I know I am opening a slight window of problems by enabling macros. However, I am confident that students are not downloading Excel spreadsheets (other than my own). My sheets have some macros, I don't know any other way to make them work.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything that looked like that; maybe someone knows where the settings are maintained?
