I have a excel workbook with 2 sheets. One sheet is the database while the other is reports (results on sheet 1). I copy and paste sheet 2 on my laptop and save this to a new workbook. It works great. the links from the copy up date ever time I open then change the database.
So I thought, what a great way for managers to have the sheet 2 (reports) on their desk and watch real time updates. Well not so lucky. The copy and paste work fine but thats where it ends. I saved my workbook out on "Z" drive with a copy or sheet 2 on my workstation. As soon as I close the "z" drive workbook, the copy sheet2 links error out. As well I can not save the copy sheet. I get great big error messages and excel tries to save a corrected file but its terrible.
So am I doing something wrong or is this a serve setup problem that restricts the links from up dating across the intra network?
