Why in the world does anyone need 1000 stocks in a worksheet? Please help me
understand why?

Where is this spreadsheet? I'd like to see what it is all about? I'm curious
now.

There are numerous stock screeners, many FREE, to help narrow your list to a
manageable list.

This is an awesome template. I have a few questions.

1. The buttons (Link, Remove Link, Force) do not work for me. I get an
error message. Anyone know what is causing this or what the purpose of the
buttons is?

2. I am able to change/replace a ticker but I am not able to add a new row
altogether. Does anyone know how to add a new row?

3. What is the meaning of the color codes?

Thanks,
Andy

I don't use all 1000. In fact, I only use 100. I simply like the clean format and speed of this template.

Further, I am not screening anything. I am tracking my watch list. I like tracking it in a spreadsheet rather than online because of the increased flexibility - hence my questions below.

I hope that helps, Kermit.

My thoughts exactly.

Money making worksheets > 1000 input tickers with RCHGetYahooQuotes function-2.xlsm
I couldn't find a description of how they work.

The speed of the template comes from using an array-entered version of
RCHGetYahooQuotes(). It can get numerous data items on up to 200 tickers in
one Internet access. So you could create your own worksheet pretty easily.

Another source of numerous data items on a ticker list (or all tickers) in
one Internet access is FinViz. See the LINKS are of the group for more info.

Is there a trick to adding a new ticker to the list? It seems to take a long time to process the way I am manually adding the ticker.

I don't know anything about that worksheet. It's not one of mine.

But adding a new ticker to the normal RCHGetYahooQuotes() function is easy
-- I just set it up for the 200 tickers, and I can add or change any of the
200 ticker cells without an issue. If I need to go over 200 ticker symbols,
I just add another function for another 200 ticker symbols.

Sorry, I didn't state my question well.

Does the smfUpdateDownloadTable macro work with RCHGetTableCell? I am trying to prevent frequent updates which bog down the program.

For most uses of RCHGetTableCell() it does. Unfortunately, it doesn't work
with functions like RCHGetYahooQuotes() when they are used to return
multiple data items.

I have a number of workbooks with smfUpdateDownloadTable where I want to be
in control of when things update. Usually only once, after I open the
workbook.

Adding tickers to smfUpdateDownloadTable shouldn't be an issue -- it keeps
processing row after row until the ticker cell for a row is empty.
