With changes in EXCEL versions and O/S, the keyboard shortcut wasn't
carried forward by EXCEL. That's why I specifically said:

*"You should just be able to run the smfUpdateDownloadTable macro from your
context menu, or via the macro dialog page. I usually run it from a button
I created on my toolbar."*
I highlight
ed a small range and ran the macro in the attachment you sent, and it
filled the range in.

That's because the macro dialog only shows macros in open workbooks, which
doesn't include add-ins. You would need to type in the macro name when it's
in something like the add-in. Once you type in the full macro name, your
buttons on the right should activate. That's why I attached the macro to a
button on my toolbar. Much easier to access, and I use it quite a bit.

But, like I said, it should also be on the context menu within EXCEL. Just
right-click, click on "SMF", then on "Update Download Table".

Hi Randy, I've so far been successful in getting data for most items, however there are 2 items from Reuters that returns "Error"

smfGetTagContent("http://www.reuters.com/finance/stocks/financialHighlights?symbol=~~~~~.KL","td",1,"Sales (TTM) vs TTM 1 Yr. Ago")

smfGetTagContent("http://www.reuters.com/finance/stocks/financialHighlights?symbol=~~~~~.KL","td",1,"Sales - 5 Yr. Growth Rate")

above 2 are the only ones returning problems..
however, when tested as individual smfgettagcontent function, they work fine, just couldnt work well in the smfupdatedownloadtable

Any idea on what causes it?

I found out the problem, it is due to reuters using their own specialised stock ticker, called the RICs (Reuters Instrument Code)

so now arises another problem, how do I use smfupdatedownloadtable to refer to the normal stock ticker and also the Reuters specialised ticker?

smfGetTagContent("http://www.reuters.com/finance/stocks/financialHighlights?symbol=~~~~~.KL","td",1,"Sales (TTM) vs TTM 1 Yr. Ago")

smfGetTagContent("http://www.reuters.com/finance/stocks/financialHighlights?symbol=~~~~~.KL","td",1,"Sales - 5 Yr. Growth Rate")

Example:
Normal ticker, Reuters ticker
0012, THEA
5959, AMRE
7086, ABEL

Only reuters uses such specialised ticker..

There's not a way to do two different tickers there...at least nothing that
comes to mind.

I think there were messages some time ago that Zack's rank for individual stocks is no longer available from SMF. Used to be Element #848. Is that correct?
