Subject: [MSO_2010] OT - MORE Sad MVP deaths!
The technical community was just recovering from the sad death of Microsoft
Word MVP Shauna Kelly. We have just learned that Excel MVP Nate Oliver and
Publisher MVP Mary Sauer have both passed!
Nate was quite the outgoing "Mr. Excel" MVP, Mary keeping a much lower
profile, but equally as prominent with thousands of answers given in short
order. Nate passed sudden at the young age of 35 from an apparent heart
problem. I have yet to learn about Mary's details.
Although there are some individual memorial site being created, MVPs have
recently discussed of a master page to list all those we've lost over the
years with links to their permanent/full memorials. Once I get that info,
I'll pass it along. There you'll be able to find more full details on all
our MVP 'angels' along with a possible opportunity to share your own
thoughts. I know many of you take advantage of these generous souls and
their gift for giving/helping others learn technology in their given fields.
I was devastated to learn of my good friend Shauna's passing! Although I
didn't know Mary well, I have spent time exchanging teases and barbs with
Nate over the years and his death is QUITE a shock to so many...much in part
to his constant presence and help in our MVP community.
Here's hoping that 2012 gives us much less sad news!
