Re: =RCHGetYahooHistory updating very slow

Shame, it seems to be Yahoo that updates these prices late.

Some were not updated until after 11:30am GMT.

Our markets open at 08:00 GMT so need this data before this time (none had updated before this time).

Do you know of any alternatives to grab historical data such as this?

Thanks.

Ah, yes it does pay to read ALL the docs. I got so fixated on testing the functions listed in the overview I failed to to read the note at the bottom that says to check for other functions in the folder.

These options functions look great, I will be trying them out this weekend.

Thanks for your help getting me started in the right direction.

More specifics please -- ticker symbol, element number?

If they are AdvFN elements, you may need to apply the fix suggested in
the "Links" area of the group.

Or, you may be using ticker symbols that are specific to MSN.

Any ticker symbol and element number between 540 and 552 inclusive, Randy. On your spreadsheet that shows element number and source, elements 540 to 552 are shown as MSN2 sourced.

Most of those were obsoleted when MSN changed their web site early last
year:

2011-01-26 RCHGetElementNumber Updated the element definitions in file
smf-elements-1.txt because MSN made changes to their web pages.
-- Too many were changed to mention them all.
-- Elements #2, #541-542, #544-546, and #551-552 were obsoleted.
You'll need the new element definitions file from the "Works in Progress"
folder to pick up those elements that were redefined.

Also, see my messages from yesterday for more info:
