elementnumbers  5052-5058  yahoo fund performance not working

Hello Randy,

Element numbers 5052-5058, yahoo fund performance rank in category, are returning - n/a?

I am using your previous version addin. I don't know if this matters.

Do I need to replace or update anything to keep using yahoo fund elements?

Thank you.

If you're getting N/A, then that is the value that Yahoo is posting...

What am doing wrong ?

When I enter

= smfGetOptionQuotes("SPY Sep 2012 $110 Call","l",,"OX")

I get the Call Price but when I replace Call with Put

=smfGetOptionQuotes("SPY Sep 2012 $110 Put","l",,"OX")

- it gives me Invalid Call/Put Indicator message

The "OX" data source only works for calls. There is a brief indication of
that in the documentation. It was the best source I could find for the
Greeks on the calls, but I couldn't find a bookmarkable URL for the puts.

Depending on what other data items you're interested in, you can use "OX2"
or "OX3".

Thanks for the clarification. I like 888options.com but don't know you to import that into Excel.

Google Docs version of Company Overview

Posted by: "bobsledproductions" JPeters3515@snet.net   bobsledproductions

Previously I created a Company Overview worksheet leveraging the addin, that is in the "files" section, but recently I was curious to know how far Google Docs has come, and whether the same type of workbook could be created in the Spreadsheet app. So I spent about 3-4 hours the other day, and got pretty close. If you are interested, take a look at the Company Overview spreadsheet that I created and published here:

https://docs.google.com/templates?q=company+overview&category=2&type=spreadsheets&sort=rating&view=public

I also put together a blog that detailed the steps here and how it was done (a little rough, but hopefully you get the point):

http://justspreadsheets.blogspot.com/2012/02/company-overview-google-docs-version.html

I know this doesn't exactly fit within Randy's group, so apologies if you view this as spam, not my intention. But, from my perspective if something similar to the addin could be built and delivered through a fully hosted solution like google docs, with nothing required to be installed on your desktop, and work on say mobile devices, and be localized, it could be quite powerful and useful.

At this point in time, I'm far from convinced that I would ever replace Excel with Google docs, but....there is something compelling about a no cost, no download, device independent solution.

Anyways, let me know your thoughts.....

At one point, my "Internet version" vision was to have a URL that could
create the equivalent of an SSG file. Then, no matter which spreadsheet
tool was used, all of the data would be available in a fixed location.

The problem is coming up with a file definition that has all data elements
defined.

Another option would be to create some form of XML file. Then, the tags can
be defined as needed, and the data is available to anything that wants to
use it.

In any case, the point would be to separate the tool from the data -- make
the data easily available independently of what is using the data.

I am able to see data for individual stocks, one at a time, but doesn't work using an array ....{RCHGetElementNumber(a2:a10,b1:e1)}.

There is no array-entered version of the formula to get multiple tickers
and/or multiple element numbers. There would be no advantage in doing so,
since each data item would need to be retrieved individually anyway.
