RE: [ExcelVBA] MZ TOOLS FOR VBA

Louise,

Whilst many swear by it, and even though I have it installed, I do not use
it much. But it is a good tool, and well worth installing to try out (it is
a VBE addin, so your myriad of other addins are irrelevant in this
situation).

The one thing I do use extensively is the error handler facility. I can
create a generic error handler, put in placeholders for things like
procedure name, and when I add it to a procedure, MZ-Tools inserts the code
in the correct part of the procedure (some at the start, some at the end),
and translates all of the placeholders. I had my own addin that did a
similar job, MZ_tools just does it better.

And you really should wean yourself off of Textpad, use the VBIDE. I am not
anti-Textpad, I myself use it for HTML, but it is really not necessary for
VBA.

Bob

Hi Bob,

As a matter of fact, counting the lines are not a big priority for me.
I just wanted to try Paul's code for the fun of writing something new.

I have looked at what this MZ-Tool, there are a few features that seem
interesting, but I do not feel like adding something else to my Excel.
I already have lots of .XLAM that I don't even know how they came in and it
makes the whole very heavy.

I also have many of the advertised features in my Text Pad.
I have so many code snippets, templates, references already written that it
would need to be really something exceptional for me to decide to transfer
that to another tool.

Any one else using this MZ-Tool?

But I am afraid we should start a new topic on this, because this start
looking as a subject hijacking.

But thank you for this suggestion.

Louise
