Have tried that and also tried the SMF-Template-Morningstar-Portfolio-Attributes.xls file and get only errors. Any other ideas? Thanks.

I just grabbed that template from the FILES area of the group, and it
worked fine for me with ticker symbol VFINX.

Try opening up the EXCEL Web Query dialog, visit morningstar.com, cancel
out, and then run the smfForceRecalculation macro (see LINKS area of group
for details on it).

Would be willing to pay for file completion and cleanup. Do you do this?

What does it involve? I'm not sure I understand what you want to accomplish.

From what I saw, conversion to smfUpdateDownloadTable should be simple.
Just open up the example, plug in your element numbers, column headers, and
ticker symbols. Then run it.

I am trying to get data from various sources listed in row #1 to compare the information. From this data I will do some computations which I can handle in standard Excel functions. I am able to locate the information using a web browser but have not been able to successfully use the functions to automate the download beyond what exists in the sample spreadsheet I downloaded. I have also not been able to locate smfUpdateDownloadTable and associated documentation. IF I can get the information for one security using the ticker, then I can duplicate the functions by row to get the information on additional securities which will change over time as the portfolio or portfolio prospects change. If you have more specific questions, please let me know. Also if you can fix this for me let me know what you propose. I appreciate your help.

Check the LINKS area of the group for more info on smfUpdateDownloadTable.

I've got a workbook that is working very well with RCHGetYahooQuotes and the smfGetOptionQuotes. The updates come quite quickly and I'm happy with the way the worksheet is functioning.

My concern is that when this workbook is opened I get a lot of "#NAME?" errors throughout the worksheet. After about 20 - 30 seconds these "#NAME?" references will disappear, and the correct values appear. The workbook operates well after these error messages disappear.

The only thing I've noticed (which may or may not have anything to do with this) is: When I check the EDIT/LINKS on Excel I find a link shown on my workbook for the RCH Stock Market Functions.

Yet, when I open the SMFLite-RCHGetYahooQuotes-Example workbook from the Files section, and check the EDIT/LINKS for that workbook I find no links displayed, and in fact, the 'Links' entry is not shown in Bold type.

Does this have anything to do with my "#NAME?" issue ?? Is there anything I can do to minimize or eliminate these "#NAME?" references ??

Thanks

If they go away, it's probably just that you see them because the workbook
is recalculating at the same time it is resolving the links. So the
unresolved links show up as #NAME? until they get resolved.

OK, so how does the SMFLite-RCHGetYahooQuotes-Example workbook function without any links ??

Do I just not worry about the "#NAME?" messages since they do go away ??

Thanks again.

Because all of the LITE functions are internal, so there are no links to
anything external.

You only need to worry about the #NAME? messages if they DON'T go away.
Plus, EXCEL will also then warn you that you have unresolved links.
