Oh, OK. Heck the other columns are very helpful, too.
Thanks, Randy.

Ahh. Your subject line says KEY ratios comparison, so I looked at the MSN template:
SMF-Template-MSN-Key-Ratio-Comparisons.xls
You're looking at (no KEY in name):
SMF-Template-Reuters-Ratios-Comparison.xls
In any case, it appears both MSN and Reuters have dropped all of their S&P 500 statistics.

I tried the SMF-Template-Morningstar-Key-Ratios spreadsheet and everything seems to work expect Cash Flow Ratios which all shows Error.
I used IBM and several others as the symbol. All showed Error in Cask Flow
I do not have a Morningstar userid. Would that be why the values are Error?
Which brings me to ask – How do I know which elements require a user sign on to the website and which do not?

I just tried that file with IBM and everything works fine for me.
The elements you see shown as "Premium" on their website are the ones you
need to sign in to see. Only a very few items are "Premium" -- six or so?

Not sure what you are referring to, Randy.
I did state SMF-Template-Key-Ratio-Comparison-Table. I forgot to mention the MSN. It does have the "Key" in the name. In any case, you were saying that S&P500 statistics has been dropped from MSN.

But you said this about the one you were looking at -- "The Company,

The MSN template doesn't have a Sector column. The Reuters template is the
one with the Sector column.

Hi Randy, I tried your suggestion:
in cell D6 the formula
=smfStrExtr(RCHGetWebData("http://www.dividendinvestor.com%22,%22chk%22),%22value/=""","""")
I get #VALUE!
Is this because I use EXCEL 2003?

Maybe -- try:
=smfstrExtr(RCHGetWebData("http://www.dividendinvestor.com
","chk",100),"value=""","""")
The 100 parameter tells it to return a 100-byte string instead of the
default of 32767. It may be that the longer length is what is upsetting
EXCEL 2003.

Hi Randy - I noticed that Reuters is showing 1/3/5 years dividend growth.
For 5Y I use element 13674.
For 1Y I use
=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.reuters.com/finance/stocks/financialHighlights?symbol="&A3,1,"Dividend %")
For 3Y I use
=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.reuters.com/finance/stocks/financialHighlights?symbol="&A3,2,"Dividend %")
Do you thing it is a good idea to assign element#'s to 1Y and 3Y div growth?

The Growth and Performance tables on the right-hand side are new. I'll have
to think about adding them. I'm not usually too anxious to go back and add
new elements from existing pages.

I decided to go ahead and add the new elements you noted, because I also
added the new performance table. I know a lot of people were asking about
such data when MSN dropped their performance elements.
I just uploaded a new version of the smf-elements-5.txt file to the "Works

I am trying to write a VBA code in Excel to retrieve past 20 closing prices from Yahoo when given a stock ticker, but I am unsure on the best way to go about it. With holidays and weekends, it's very difficult to predict the date range to make retrieve exact 20 quotes, so I am hoping someone here with expertise in VBA codes and use of RCH functions can help out. Thanks very much.

In EXCEL, you'd just enter it in a 20-row range. No dates necessary.
In VBA, you need to use the pDim1 (i.e. "rows") and pDim2 (i.e. "columns")
parameters. Again, no dates necessary. Just set pDim1 to 20 and pDim2 to 1.
For example, something like this would return the last 20 adjusted closing
prices:
vHQ = RCHGetYahooHistory("MMM", , , , , , , , "A", 0, , , 20, 1)

Thanks very much for your reply. I assume vHQ is declared as a dynamic array. I am probably pushing my luck here, but what happens to the final 2 parameters in the formula if I am looking for the next 20 quotes prior to today, i.e. 20 quotes from yesterday and past, excluding today's? Thanks.
