Re: Ex Div Date in History?

Sorry, I assumed that the date would be the PAY DATE. Seems like it would be usefult to get both of these dates, as it would make the simulation more realistic. If I could only have one, of course, it would be the Ex-Div date, as at least I would then know that a holding has rights to the dividend, but then I'd have to assume payment on the same day, or use some algorythm to approximate the actual payment date. Assuming, of course, that there is no easy way to bet both Ex-Div AND scheduled payment date.

Thanks to all who responded...

Payment date is irrelevant in terms of when to adjust the historical stock
price. But it is important when constructing a cash flow scenario.

In any case, how about from the NASDAQ web site:

=RCHGetHTMLTable("http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/mmm/dividend-history
","Ex/Ef",-1,"",1)

pSort problem

Using values of 0 or 1 for pSort: doesn't seem to have any effect; the date order remains Newest to Oldest. I've inserted a sort routine after updating the data, but thought I'd ask if I'm just doing something wrong.

Range(oCell.Offset(16, -1), oCell.Offset(iObservations + 15, 0)) = _
RCHGetYahooHistory(oCell.Value2, pResort:=1, pPeriod:="v", pDim1:=iObservations, pDim2:=2)

Thanks!

Not you. Resorting is specifically ignored for the dividends option -- I
don't recall why I did that.
