Try opening a new document in notepad
type
Open Excel.exe "Name of file you want to open between quote marks"
save file as whatever.bat making sure it saves it with the extension
.bat not .txt (you might have to change your folder options \ view to
see the extension so untick "hide extension of known file types" )
then put the bat file on the descktop and click it and it will do just
what you want :-)
