The 200-ticker limit has been in place as long as I've been using Yahoo's
CSV file...

The oldest message I can find on this Yahoo group about the 200-ticker
limit is from 2006, but I was using the CSV file before I started this
group.

I originally wrote some of the early add-in routines when I was on the
XLTraders group. The earliest message I could find that mentions the
200-ticker limit there is from 2001.

I expected that there would be some undesirable side effect from the fix for blank tickers, but didn't know of one until now. However, if somebody has 20 tickers interspersed through 200 rows (not contiguous and not starting in rows 1 - 20), I think it is worse to have the result range shifted and mis-aligned with the input range. I'd rather have the error instead.

Randy,

Do you have an Element to screen for RS (relative strength) as shown by market smith or IDB?

I'm not talking about element 1280 - relative strength index.

No elements, but you should find other formulas to do what you need on this
template:

RCHGetTableCell-Template-IBD-Stock-Checkup.xls

Before using the add-in functions to access their web pages, you'll need to
create an IE security cookie by either logging in via EXCEL's Web Query
dialog (preferred, keyboard shortcut alt+d+d+w) or with IE. Logging in with
something like FireFox will not work.

Also, note that IBD's terms of service limit how many Stock Checkups you
can access within a 24-hour period. I think it's 300 or so?

Yes, you do have to be a member. That's why you need to log in and create
the IE security cookie.
