Hello Randy,

I tried the find and replace all 'C:\User Name\Application Data\Microsoft\AddIns\RCH_Stock_Market_Functions.xla'!with nothing and what I get is the following message:

Microsoft Excel cannot find any data to replace.......

Am I misunderstanding the workaround?

Regards,

Marc

The string you need to find and replace will be dependent on what YOU have
as a prefix to the add-in functions on your worksheet. It's probably not
that string that I used as an example in the LINKS entry.

The smfFixLinks macro actually uses a wildcard character so it doesn't need
to know:

'*\RCH_Stock_Market_Functions.xla'!

Bingo! Thanks, Randy. The * did the trick.

A=Annual as opposed to Q=Quarterly.
Do you realize there is documentation for these things?

Hello Randy,

Do you have a current version of the Key Ratio Comparison Table you made in 2006 & 2011?

Marc

What's wrong with the one in the FILES area? Looks like a few more S&P 500
items should be obsoleted. But what else?

On my end ALL of the S&P 500 don't work. The Company, Industry & Sector appear to work.

Ahh. Your subject line says KEY ratios comparison, so I looked at the MSN
template:

SMF-Template-MSN-Key-Ratio-Comparisons.xls

You're looking at (no KEY in name):

SMF-Template-Reuters-Ratios-Comparison.xls

In any case, it appears both MSN and Reuters have dropped all of their S&P
500 statistics.

I've been using the RCHGetYahooQuotes(xxx, "n") function to retrieve the company name for a given ("xxx") ticker symbol. Very useful, but the company names retrieved are all truncated at 17 characters. As an alternative, the RCHGetElementNumber(xxx,13862) returns names that are more complete, but many of the returned names (not all) are in ALL CAPS format. That format comes across as shouting, and it's inconsistent (some all caps, some in the more proper title case). Any suggestions? Am I using the functions correctly?

Thanks for any help.

The add-in is just returning what the data sources are providing. You could
try using EXCEL's PROPER() function to get rid of the upper case:

=PROPER(RCHGetElementNumber("IBM",13862))

Thanks, Randy -- that helps.

Do you ever sleep?

No set schedule. I often sleep more during the day than I do at night.
