I tried array entry and it was not reliable. Can you think of a workaround with array entry that is reliable?

Hopefully fixed now:

That was related to them changing the historical quotes process last May.

I can't visualize what you're trying to do from what you posted.

Specific formula please, and over what range you are entering it.

To go vertical, you would need to transpose() the returned data. One of the
templates on the website has such an example.

Randy,
Is there a workaround beyond:Stock Market Functions add-in, Version 2.1.2017.10.24 (C:\SMF Add-in; Windows (32-bit) NT 10.00; 16.0; ; ; 1) ?

If so, I can't locate it. If it exists, would you please provide directions for finding it?
Thanks,
- Michael

A workaround for what? smfPricesByDates()? I'm confused.

Is there a version of Stock Market Functions add-in, beyond Version 2.1.2017.10.24?

If so, how can I find it?

Thanks,

Randy,

Thanks for the response. Can you tell me how to get 10 stock quotes at the same time or even better point me to some documentation on the function smfGetYahooPortfolioView?

Thank you very much.

The example in the blog entry is almost what you need:

=smfGetYahooPortfolioView("MMM,IBM","010215",,1)

Just do the 10 ticker symbols there. You could also refer to a range of
ticker symbols. I would suggest always having the function return the
ticker symbol, because Yahoo returns nothing for ticker symbols it doesn't
have data for. So it won't be "one in, one out".

You should be able to use the smfGetYahooPortfolioView() for the first two.
Use the "Last Traded" time. Use the smfUNIX2Date() on the number returned
and it should have both the date and time in it. You can format that result
as you want it. If you need it as text, use the TEXT() function. Note that
you may need to adjust the time based on your time zone.

For EBITDA, you'd probably need to use the RCHGetElementNumber() function.
That could be slow for a lot of tickers.

You need to fix the unresolved link, because your add-in is in a different
location than mine. Use the smfFixLinks macro.

New release should fix that:
https://smf-add-in.blogspot.com/2017/11/new-zip-file-version-20171102.html

That ticker symbol showed that two of my assumptions about the data were
incorrect:

1. That any given ticker symbol's data would only be 1200 bytes in length.
I've upped that to 2000 now.
2. That the data would be comma-delimited. MPC has a comma within the name,
so it burped.

Sorry about the problem. I was wondering why I was getting issue on and
off. Those two assumptions were the problem. Thanks.

Sorry about the problem. I can't blame Yahoo for this one. I had a few
assumptions about the data that were incorrect.

Howdy Randy,

Today this: =RCHGetYahooQuotes("MMM","l1") stopped working?

rchgetyahooquotges does not show up in the drop down list once I start typing: = rchgetyahooquotes.

It does not show up in the drop down list list?

Also "Happy Holidays".

Not sure why the function isn't showing up in the drop-down list. It is
here.

As for the problems with function itself, see the recent announcements on
the blog:

https://smf-add-in.blogspot.com/

Happy holidays to you too. :)
