Very, very, very sorry to hear this. I was just trying to update to the latest version (11.08) that you worked on, but I still was having no success. Rats. :( If this is the end, all I can say is THANK YOU for all your hard work and efforts over the years. What a great tool! What a darn shame ...

Without a context, it's difficult to know what you're sorry to hear?

Guessing? It may just be a matter of changing from RCHGetYahooQuotes() to
smfGetYahooPortfolioView(). All of the standard fields are available.

Sorry! I was sorry to hear you say that RCHGetYahooQuotes is dead! I haven't tried to substitute smfGetYahooPortfolioView(), but I can try that. My problem today was that I downloaded the 2017 11.08 version, but when I try to link it to Excel, it's showing a 2015 version, so I was trying to figure that out when I saw your post that the whole thing might be dead ...

That sounds like you may have the add-in files in more than one folder and
you updated the files in the folder that isn't pointed to by the add-in
manager?

Randy,

Just curious if this is possible to change myself.

With the smfGetYahooPortfolioView function, is it possible to get the "--" output to change to just "" or blank?

Most of my fields with no values are blank. So I was looking to clean up the -- fields if possible. If not, no big deal.

This function has really been a big help. I'll look into the new barcharts one as well.

I prefer the visual placeholder, so I know the field was processed by the
function. But you could do something like:

=IF(smfGetYahooPortfolioView("MMM,IBM","010009")="--","",smfGetYahooPortfolioView("MMM,IBM","010009"))

It would process the JSON file twice, but would only retrieve it from the
Internet once.

Ok. Thanks. I'll use that if I decide to blank everything out. Not sure yet.

Hi Randy,

I'm trying to make an array entry for the following table with stock symbols and a table of the industry sectors.

The Excel table is attached, and you will note that the first column uses a substring of 16 characters to fetch the effective date, while all the rest just use the index value for each of the Morningstar industry sector breakdown.

I got a NUMBER? error when I tried to enter the column cells and the row cells for the table.

Any suggestions on what to enter for the CSE callout?

Loved your PortfolioView and have customized it to the same field display and formats lists that I had for the dead function! Thanks a million, as I go back to 2009 with the Vertex42 MSN Money feed, and have used the Yahoo table since that died on 12/22/2014. I feed the current prices directly into my massive portfolio spreadsheet that consolidates eleven investment accounts across five asset managers to give me a live portfolio value that I can save for every day's valuations!

I use this function to breakdown every holding so I can also reflect on a chart of the consolidated industry sectors for my portfolio.

Sorry, but your two questions just confused me:

>>> I got a NUMBER? error when I tried to enter the column cells and the
row cells for the table.

>>> Any suggestions on what to enter for the CSE callout?

Can you give me more context?

P.S. You are aware of the
http://ogres-crypt.com/SMF/Templates/SMF-Template-Morningstar-Portfolio-Attributes.xls
template, correct?

I am using the following SMF call and it is working:
=smfGetYahooPortfolioView(B4:B24,"1524252829303133",,1)
I would like the previous close as well, so I updated the call to:
=smfGetYahooPortfolioView(B4:B24,"152425282930313351",,1)
but I did not get the previous close. Is there a problem with this function? Am I doing something wrong?

Note: I am using version 2.1.2017.11.02 of SMF

The additional fields for smfGetYahooPortfolioView() weren't available
until version 2017.11.04 of the add-in.

Just grab the latest version.

This is curious. I hope someone can help. I have installed the latest add-in (2.1.2017.11.08) and confirmed it is installed with

=RCHGetElementNumber("Version")

which returns the correct information.

I can run a procedure that accumulates tickers in column A5:A204 and writes individual info desired by 2 digit number in row 4 (B4:AD4) (formatted as text, not numeric). The array entered formula is then written by the macro to cover the entire range with

=rchGetYahooPortfolioView($A$5:$A$204,$B$4:$AD$4,,0)

All I get is #NAME? in every cell. Now I know this means excel is not finding the function, yet if I copy the SAME information over to the example spreadsheet (using copy-> paste values) in the appropriate places, the function works as designed. And RCHGet ElementNumber("Version") returns the correct version that is installed on my computer in the correct place.

I've forced recalculation, but this changes nothing, nor would I expect it to.

I'll try to attach a screen shot but am not sure how to do this, and you should get the idea from above. So why would it NOT work on my spreadsheet, yet work OK on Randy's example spreadsheet? I suppose I've done something stupid, but I'm stumped. Any trouble-shooting ideas appreciated.

And, like you said, there wasn't any issue. The answer was right there in front of me. Boy was I over thinking it. Thank you for pointing it out. Your Add-in is amazing! Jim

There shouldn't be any issue running both an smfGetYahooPortfolioView() and an smfGetBarchartPortfolioView() function, except that they would need different ticker symbols...

Randy or others. I could use some help finding an appropriate ticker to use with BarchartPortfolio add-in for a company traded on the DAX in Germany for Deutsche Post AG, one of my largest holdings. Yahoo used the company's DPW.de ticker which returned the correct information in Euros. Barchart website shows an international number (London exchg?), A-0H3Q.LS, that shows the company along with the correct price info in EUROs. When using that number with the BarchartPorfolio add-in it returns the correct company name but not the correct price info.

I'm only looking for last and previous price and would appreciate your thoughts. Is it possible to run a second file to get this data from Yahoo using the smfGetYahooPortfolio. I'm a little nervous going down this path and hosing up a days worth of work with the new BarchartPortfolio. RCHGetElementNumber also pulls data for DPW.de but I didn't see fields for the two data points mentioned.

BTW, this stock is doing very well, up around 30% this past year, setting record highs and it is not even X'mas yet (international parcel and mail delivery).
