Thanks Randy - really appreciate your work. Marshall

I also appreciate all of your fine work. I have relied on the Yahoo quotes simply to pull down a stock quote into a singe cell in my spreadsheet and then use that to calculate a number of other cells. Is there any other way to pull down a quote into a excel cell? or are we out of luck?
Thanks

If you only do a few, you can do:

=smfGetYahooPortfolioView("MMM","15")

Otherwise, if you do a number of different fields and/or tickers, please do
the array-entered version. Otherwise, it just encourages Yahoo to shut the
process down, because they get inundated with requests.

I just tried that and the return in the cell was : "#NAME?"

OK, Randy, I read your announcement that RCHGetYahooQuotes may be no more. Below is a vba code snippet that I've been using:

'Following code extracts the previous, open, high, low, last trade, date and time of last trade,
' and 50-day SMA for each of the listings in SelStr
Sheets(MySheet).Select
Range("A2:I70") = RCHGetYahooQuotes(SelStr, "spohgl1d1t1m3", , Now(), 0)

Is there another way of getting this info? Do I need to download a new version of the add-in? The one I'm using was created on 9/17/2017.

Thanks.

You'd need to change that over to the smfGetYahooPortfolioView() function,
but not all of those fields are available. And, yes, you would need the
latest version of the add-in.

BTW, the NOW() parameter there was useless.

What fields are available? or unavailable? Where can I find the documentation for the parameter list of the smfGetYahooPortfolioView() function?
Thanks again for fighting the battle!

Randy,

Yahoo does currently have a csv file export function for a listing of stocks and prices.

Here's the link I used: https://finance.yahoo.com/portfolio/pf_1/view/view_3 https://finance.yahoo.com/portfolio/pf_1/view/view_3

I had to enter the symbols manually. There is an export feature which will give the symbol and latest price. The name of the security does not seem to get exported.

I don't know if this is of any use to you.

All the best,

Stan

That link is to one of your own personal portfolio views. The export
feature there is a customized one for that specific portfolio and its view.
The export file is not available to the add-in.

Any idea what query I can use to parse various currency exchange rates?
What about getting "company name" from the ticker? for example MSFT = Microsoft

The new smfGetYahooPortfolioView() can be used for both of those. See the
template. A currency ticker symbol would be something like:

USDCAD=X

Oddly enough, for the portfolio view, Yahoo returns all of the currency
quotes first...
