hi,
i finally got in to the IBD via the get web data query function, but it seems to have changed a bit.

anyway, i recall getting the stock name off of the IBD web page via one of the templates. Did it go away? if so, can it be restored? part of my process to to start with a ticker and get the name.
thanks much for all you help.
mike

You can grab it from the title tag of the web page:

=smfStrExtr(smfGetTagContent("
https://research.investors.com/stock-quotes/xxxx-IBM.htm","title"),"~","
Stock Quote")

ook. thanks.
i also now was able to get this to work, by changing http to https
=smfStrExtr(RCHGetWebData("https://research.investors.com/stock-checkup/xxxx-"&E2&".aspx",UPPER(E2)&","),UPPER(E2)&", "," |")

is this way preferable to what you suggested?

thx,
mike

It depends on whether you're getting the other IBD data from the quotes
page or the checkup page. You should use the same web page, to reduce the
number of web page retrievals.

Keep in mind that IBD does limit the number of checkups you can do within a
24-hour period (300 or 400?).

Yes, I cut and pasted badly. It does work.
The FT one though certainly works but it picks up the current ex-div date, rather than the next one, which is a couple of lines down. Is there a way to pick that one up as it's in the future rather than the past?

Sorry, but I don't see it "a couple of lines down"?

https://markets.ft.com/data/equities/tearsheet/profile?s=ALA:TOR

I doubt the next dividend would have been declared yet?

Thanks Randy!
I converted arrays from RCHGetYahooQuotes but smfGetYahooPortfolioView will not fill in cells for the additional entries following the first listing. That is, my arrays contain multiple entries of same stock (same stock on succeeding rows - - new entry for every purchase of that stock recording the different purchase prices, comminssions, number of shares etc.).The first entry is filled in but succeeding entries of that same stock are left blank.

Any suggestions for getting all of the cells for all of the stocks filled in?

Is there another source rather than smfGetYahooPorfolioView that will better provide basic info on primarily Canadian stocks?

Thanks, Doug
