hamishthedenizen,
I am indeed using your sheet, but I'm using the one titled "10 year model-Guru Focus-All Types". I downloaded a newer version and it seemed to have the same problem. Your 10 year model-Guru Focus- Non Financials only seems to work right though. I may have to try to merge the two to get a working copy.
I did download and install the new SMF files, but they didn't help.
I'll work this more tomorrow... wife permitting.

Hi,
I am trying to use these three templates and no of them work, it says #NAME? in all the cells.
smfGetAdvFNElement-Template-All-Line-Items
smfGetAdvFNElement-Template-Specific-Line-Items
RCHGetHTMLTable-Template-MSN-Annual-Financials
Any idea what it could be?

See item 0.2 on the "Tips and FAQs" web page:
http://ogres-crypt.com/SMF/Tips-and-FAQs/
If you haven't used AdvFN data before, you may also want to review the two
AdvFN entries on that web page.

Thank you Mike -- works great!! I also appreciated your clear explanation of what's going on, as well as what may have caused the problem. My trusty watchlist is back to normal, and now I can get to work prepping for tomorrow. I'm stoked!

Thank you Randy! I really appreciated both your and Mike's timely, clear responses to my problem. I would not have been able to figure out what was happening without your help.
People like you are a saving grace to coding-illiterate folks like me. My last programming experience was back with Fortran, using IBM punchcards that we had to take to the compiler to get processed, lol. Since then, any "coding" I've done in relation to my trading has primarily consisted of begging, borrowing & stealing snippets of stuff that people have already done, cutting & pasting them together and praying that it all somehow works. (Oh, and asking patient people who are willing to share their expertise a ton of questions!)
I'll definitely look into your suggestion regarding the CSV file. Basically sounds like I could be using my resources a lot more efficiently. Although you've set up such a great, user-friendly tool and provide such generous support, it was still a struggle for someone like me (per the preceding paragraph) to get my watchlist going a few years ago. Having gotten it to that point, I was so pleased just to have such a valuable working tool that further tweaks re: efficiency were far from my mind. But maybe it's time again that I stretch my brain a bit more...
Your generous contributions to the trading/investing community have been invaluable to so many of us, and SMF is such an integral tool in my daily trading work that I sometimes take it for granted. Your work is really appreciated, Randy...
