Randy,
Is there a source for downloading current and past implied volatility of stocks?
If so, can your addins support this?

Thanx.
Jay

The beta version of the add-in in the "Works In Progress" folder can get
that from 888options.com.

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone is using SCTR scores on site below. It splits stock population into separate large, mid and small cap pages. Is there a way to combine the 3 caps into one formula? Eitherway, I'm having difficulty creating the formula for aapl on the link below. Any help would be appreciated.

Jeff

Sorry, but the web page is generated dynamically, so there is nothing in
the source code of the web page for the add-in to extract as data.

Randy,
Thank. Thanks. Would it work if I saved the page to my computer with location
file:///C:/Data/Stocks/SCTR_S&P500.htm

Using the code below would be looking for symbol EXPE and extract SCTR = 99.9 and Change = 0.0. I appreciate your help.

Interesting idea -- appears to work here, when I saved it:

=RCHGetTableCell("file:///C:/Users/Randy/Documents/Temp/sctr.html",4,">EXPE")

You have me wondering if the add-in can automate the saving so that
dynamically generated pages can be accessed easily.

Randy,
Thanks for your help. I do find a couple of problems with my data set. The data for AT&T "T" comes over as "Sector" vs the rating. Also, expected to get an error for my "DG" symbol, but gives me a rating for symbol "DGX".

Jeff

A different search string would make them more unique. For example:

=RCHGetTableCell("file:///C:/Users/Randy/Documents/Temp/sctr.html",5,"?c=T,")

Randy,
Thanks, I am having trouble replacing symbol "T" with obtaining symbol from cell C3 similar to my other formulas. I must have a typo, but can't seem to find it.

It's hard for me to see what's wrong without you showing the formula? :)

This works for me:

=RCHGetTableCell("file:///C:/Users/Randy/Documents/Temp/sctr.html",5,"?c="&C3&",")

I downloaded the file and appreciate your efforts.

However, I have a request of you and everyone that uploads files. Can you
please include an instruction page with a short explanation of the purpose
of the spreadsheet and how to best use it.

Sorry, if this seems to sound ungrateful. It is not meant to be but rather a
request to assist those downloading the spreadsheet.

This one is fairly straight forward but short description would be helpful
to those of us not familiar with the subject.

Thanks again,
Kermit

Thanks so much. I used to be a big fan of the Motley Fool's Foolish 8
Scorecard available on Quicken.com, until they took it down about 5 years
ago (maybe longer now...). Anyway, I tried to re-create it using your
add-in. It's a big time saver for my screening process.

I uploaded it to the group. Maybe someone will have suggestions for
improving it - and hopefully someone else will find it as useful a screening
tool as I have.

"VERSION" returns: Stock Market Functions add-in ,Version 2.1.2012.04.07(C:\Program Files\smf Add-in ; 1 )

"MMM,25" returns: error

=smfGetAParms(25) returns : MSN;Last Price;http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/research/sreport.asp?CR=1&AF=1&IH-1&AIE=1&AIR=1& ..........

Hope this leads us toward a solution for me.

What do you get with:

=RCHGetElementNumber("Version")
=RCHGetElementNumber("MMM",25)
=smfGetAParms(25)

On Sat, Jun 9, 2012 at 1:36 PM, ufdn16 < ufdn16@yahoo.com > wrote:

I followed your instructions.

I deleted everything in my smf_addin directory then went to the group website in the in-process file and retrieved the new smf_add in file.
I chose the xls file not the text file which you directed me to.

I unzipped the file and it was placed in my smf_addin directory.

I find that all my other element numbers in my worksheet are being updated. But, I still can't get 27,28,29 or 25

I at a loss.

This indicates you do not have the updated element definitions. It should
look like this:

MSN;Last Price;
http://investing.money.msn.com/investments/stock-report?CR=1&AF=1&IH=1&AIE=1&AIR=1&FRH=1&FRK=1&ISA=1&ISQ=1&BSA=1&BSQ=1&CFA=1&CFQ=1&TYS=1&ITT=1&ITP=1&Type=Equity&Symbol=~~~~~;1;STOCKACTIVITY;LAST
PRICE; ; ;0;0;0;0

Make sure you did replace the smf-elements-1.txt file, in the folder where
the add-in manager is pointing to the add-in (some people have the add-in
installed in multiple locations).

Yes, you need the new smf-elements-1.txt file I pointed you to. It's an
update to what was distributed with the ZIP file.

Yes, and I said you still have the old element definitions being loaded. So
you still need to replace the smf-elements-1.txt file with the newly
updated one from the "Works in Progress" folder.

Not at this time. The "works in progress" folder is where I post interim
items before they get packaged into the next official release. I announced
that file at the time it was uploaded.

There is also a beta version of the add-in there. You can review the
documentation of updates and new functions in that folder to see if they
might be of value to you. For example, I've had recent requests to be able
to get greeks and volatility info options. The beta version of the add-in
has new functionality to allow it to get that data from 888options.com.

Randy -

Do you have Element Numbers for Company Data Tab on ADVFN?  I searched the .txt files and could not find them.

http://www.advfn.com/p.php?pid=financials&btn=company_data&mode=annual_reports&symbol=NYSE%3AMMM&start_date=14

I want to pull Free Cash Flow pS and Dividend pS.

I can pull these with RCHGetTableCell.

=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.advfn.com/p.php?pid=financials&btn=company_data&mode=annual_reports&symbol=NYSE%3AMMM&start_date=14",1,"Yesterday's Close","Free Cash Flow pS")
=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.advfn.com/p.php?pid=financials&btn=company_data&mode=annual_reports&symbol=NYSE%3AMMM&start_date=14",1,"Yesterday's
Close","Dividend pS")

Do you have any idea why this doesn't work with RAVN, CTWS, CTAS, and many more?

Elements were only set up for the quarterly and annual financials.

These work fine for me for RAVN:

=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.advfn.com/p.php?pid=financials&symbol=RAVN",1,">Dividend
ps")
=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.advfn.com/p.php?pid=financials&symbol=RAVN",1,">Free
Cash Flow ps")
