Randy,

Here is what I have found so far.

When I got home and checked my desktop computer everything seemed fine. My spreadsheets all function normally.

It seems to be an issue with the SMF Add-in and Windows 10 and Onedrive. My laptop, which is my secondary computer syncs my spreadsheet and all my other files with Onedrive, Microsoft's cloud.

I have known for a while that you cannot keep the SMF add in on Onedrive. Excel cannot handle the dynamic nature of the file loading and downloading.

I keep the SMF files in C:/Program Files/SMF Add-in on my Desktop. This is the location that Excel looks to. Apparently even if I keep the Add In at the same exact location on my laptop it does not like it. Before Windows 10 I had been able to force the change with the Manage Add In function and selecting the same location on the laptop then going to the edit link area and change the source. This usually starting it working.

Now it seems no matter what I do I can't get the Add In to activate on my laptop. It still thinks it is residing on my Desktop. I even tried changing the name or location on my laptop but it still does not work.

The problems we were having seemed to had it in a partial state of activity where some stuff worked but not everything.

So right now I can use everything on my desktop and it works fine. However nothing will run on my laptop.

Hopefully you have a suggestion on how I might go about regaining Laptop functionality and I can pass the spreadsheet with your SMF Add-in back and forth. Ideally with a copy of the add in in each computer and just edit link and change source.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi Randy,

Thank you for your answer.
Finally, I have found a solution to my problem: in the add-in, I have replaced the function
s1=CDec(s2) in modConvertData
by:
s1=Val#(s2)

by using the function code written in this website: [VB6] CDbl & CDec like Val-VBForums http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?620447-VB6-CDbl-amp-CDec-like-Val

Do you know how can I download the yahoo tickers of the componants of an index by using the add-in?

Thank you very much,

Marion

Yahoo doesn't have a full components list for most indexes. Nor for their
ETF equivalents. I usually go to MorningStar instead, where you can get a
comprehensive list of holdings for funds or ETFs:

=smfGetCSVFile("
http://portfolios.morningstar.com/fund/holdingsExport?exportType=details&t=SPY
")

Although you may need to correct some ticker symbols for use by Yahoo...
