Having same issue... clicking on the link for download data gives a Yahoo! - 400 Bad Request return

Definitely a Yahoo issue then. Not much the add-in can do about that. That
download data link is the same type of link that RCHGetYahooQuotes() is
using to pull the data.

It's apparently not out everywhere?

It appears to be a Yahoo error, since those that can't use
RCHGetYahooQuotes() also can't use the normal download data link on Yahoo's
summary page. So not much the add-in can do about it. Hopefully, Yahoo will
fix it ASAP. You could use their feedback link at the bottom of their web
page and mention the download data link is not working.

Seems to be working right now. Yea!

Hello Richqw,

It is 1:30 Central time, and it is not yet working for me either.

I am glad to see Randy is looking into this and glad to hear he thinks it is at Yahoo.

After multiple years, not a problem, then this morning BAM! - I have not changed anything so I always expect smfaddin to work, it is very reliable for me.

So I am glad to read the culpable suspect is probably nothing on my end, meaning that it is probably happening at that Yahoo end, not ours.

I will check in later and report whether it is resolved on my end or not.

Richqw, best wishes to all of us that are dealing with this issue.

Hello Randy,

I will follow your idea, and give Yahoo feedback the download datalink is not working.

I hope this helps Yahoo identify this as a problem and work on fixing it.

Randy, thanks.

Randy, here is a copy and paste to the yahoo link, announcing they seem to know there is a problem.

I followed all the info on smfForceRecalculation in the FAQs, I removed and reinstalled the RCH_Stock_Market_Functions-2.1.2014.01.30 files. I rebooted. I tried the sample file you mentioned. I still get a blank return using Excel 2010 on Win 8.1.

It has been working flawlessly since last year. On Friday, I had a hiccup where the quotes for certain issues like NFLX seemed to not update until after the market close, It continued to report the daily high as the current price through the market day.

When I went to assign the short-cut for the Force macro, it was already assigned Ctrl-Shift-R. Pressing that does give me the "update blip" in the lower margin of the Excel window.

Any other ideas to try?

If it's a problem on Yahoo's side, there's nothing you can do on your side
to make it work.

Try the download link on a Yahoo summary page for a stock to see if it
works. That will verify whether your problem is on Yahoo's side or not.

gdett2,

I too am using windows 8.1 and excel 2010.

I am a little worried it might not be Yahoo because Randy says his template is working.

Why would Yahoo Server be working for Randy and not ours.

I hope it works tomorrow morning if not I am going to ask Lyndal Homewood how she uses google to do the same thing?
