Enclosed translates Randy's guidance into a working template handling getting to income vs Return of capital on the CEF distributions. Let me know if you see errors.

That distinction is critical in CEF fixed income valuations, as generally the value should be on the income not the return of capital (managed distributions) flow, but CEFs have incentives to bury that info.

Thanks again for the group contributions.

I am having some trouble getting key information on Canadian stocks. First of all, I have been using RCHGetElementNumber with #2151 to get the current price. Actually, it is the only one I can find on the spreadsheet that provides current price. Anyways, it works fine for many/most of my desired stocks, however, for some of the Canadian ones it doesn't work. A couple of examples I have noted below. The interesting thing is that I can retrieve the name of the stock (via # 13863) but am unable to get current price or any of the other pieces of information (receive 'error' in the cell).

CGL-C.TO (iShares Gold Buillion ETF)
GIX.V (Geologix Explorations Inc)

SVR.TO (iShares Silver Bullion ETF)

Any ideas on how I can get information on these canadian stocks (do I need to use different ticker symbols and/or different RCH #'s)?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

You should be using RCHGetYahooQuotes() to get stock quote data.
RCHGetElementNumber() is not an efficient way to get stock prices.
Array-entering RCHGetYahooQuotes() can allow you to get multiple data items
for up to 200 stocks in one Internet access.

If you're doing Canadian stocks, you're going to have to be aware of which
data sources you're using. Different web sites use different ticker symbols
for the Canadian stocks. I'm not sure IBD even covers Canadian stocks.
