They have the company values on the Key Statistics web page:

#943 = Trailing P/E
#944 = Forward P/E
#945 = Forward PEG Ratio

Hi Randy - Thank you for all your work on the Yahoo changes. It looks like element #5059, 5063, 5064, 5065, 5067 and 5093 are no longer working either. Is there a workaround I could use?

All need to be changed to JSON extractions. I hadn't even started to look
at mutual funds yet. I don't think a single data item has a good value on
the Yahoo mutual fund template.

Workarounds, for now:

=smfConvertData(smfstrExtr(smfWord(RCHGetWebData("
https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v10/finance/quoteSummary/
"&F$3&"?modules=fundProfile"),2,"""categoryName"":"),"""",""""))

=smfConvertData(smfstrExtr(smfWord(RCHGetWebData("
http://finance.yahoo.com/quote/VFINX/purchase-info
","""yield"":"),3,"""yield"":"),"""raw"":",","))

=smfConvertData(smfstrExtr(smfWord(RCHGetWebData("
https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v10/finance/quoteSummary/"&F$3&"?modules=defaultKeyStatistics"),2,"""morningStarOverallRating"":"),"""fmt"":""",
""""))

=smfConvertData(smfstrExtr(smfWord(RCHGetWebData("
https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v10/finance/quoteSummary/"&F$3&"?modules=defaultKeyStatistics"),2,"""fundInceptionDate"":"),"""fmt"":""",
""""))

=smfConvertData(smfstrExtr(smfWord(RCHGetWebData("
https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v10/finance/quoteSummary/
"&F$3&"?modules=fundProfile"),2,"""initInvestment"":"),"""raw"":",","))

=smfConvertData(smfstrExtr(smfWord(RCHGetWebData("
https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v10/finance/quoteSummary/"&F$3&"?modules=defaultKeyStatistics"),2,"""morningStarRiskRating"":"),"""fmt"":""",
""""))

Hi Randy-

Very sorry to bother you and I have searched conversations for the answer to this but haven't been able to find a suitable solution. I know your time is valuable and I very much appreciate your hard work.

I am having some difficulty updating links that return a #NAME error for a spreadsheet that I built under a previous version of SMF on Windows 7 using Excel 2007.

I have upgraded to Windows 10 and Office 365 Trial. I have installed the most recent version of SMF released two days ago to update RCHGetYahooHistory in 'C:\SMF Add-in\RCH_Stock_Market_Functions.xla'!

The old sheet loads the first time (and subsequent times if I don't manually Find/Replace All the hard coded location of the SMF directory) but when I do Find/Replace All, save a new version, close excel and reopen, I get the #NAME error, the spreadsheet doesn't recognize the add-in and the edit links section is grayed out.

I cannot find the SMF macros to run FixLinks or ForceRecalcuation. I am able to find them on Excel 2007 but when I type in the name of the macro in the customize the quick access toolbar in Office 365, I only get the option to Create.

Any thoughts on what I am missing? Again .. thanks so much for your hard work and your stewardship of this community.

To run the macros, use alt+F8 to open the macro dialog. Type in the full
name. Once the name is entered, the other button should become active.

I just unblocked and added trusted location (per your recent answer to a similar question) and that did the trick. Thanks so much!

Hi Randy, I have this problem also. When I open a spreadsheet with the AddIn, the cells show the full directory location and do not process the data. To correct, I must open the Manage Add-Ins menu (note the "Stock Market Functions Add In" is still shown as checked). Then I must Browse to the SMF folder, select the "RCH_Stock_Market_Functions", and click "OK". At this point Excel informs me that a file with that name already exists in that location and asks if I want to replace it. I click "Yes" and "OK" and the Add In starts working correctly.

I tried to locate the smfFixLinks macro you mentioned, but cannot find that macro listed on my Quick Access Toolbar (it's not in the list of available commands). How do I get the macro installed?

Thank you for your help. I've been using your work for years.

This may be the issue that started in July of last year because MicroSoft
issued some security updates. It's not letting EXCEL load the add-in when
EXCEL starts up. As a result, would be getting link errors, because EXCEL
can't resolve the links to the add-in.

For a workaround suggested by Microsoft, until they fix the issue, see:

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/smf_addin/conversations/messages/30568

To test if the add-in is up and running, issue this formula in a new
workbook:

=RCHGetElementNumber("Version")

As far as the Quick Access Toolbar, you won't find them under "Commands";.
They'll be listed under "Macros". If not there, the add-in probably isn't
up and running.

I'm trying to follow along for a field I'm looking for but I'm struggling. Previously I had the following:
=RCHGetTableCell("http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ao?s="&F34,1,">mean Target")

On the quick webpage find template it shows 241880 and name is "Avg. Estimate" on the "By table Cell" tab.

I'm just trying to grab the low, high and average analyst estimates.

Scratch the number and "avg. Estimate" part above. That wasn't the right one. I'm more lost than I thought.

That data now needs to be extracted from the JSON feeds. Try:

=smfConvertData(smfstrExtr(smfWord(RCHGetWebData("
https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v10/finance/quoteSummary/
"&$D8&"?modules=financialData"),2,"""targetLowPrice"":"),"""raw"":",","))

=smfConvertData(smfstrExtr(smfWord(RCHGetWebData("
https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v10/finance/quoteSummary/
"&$D8&"?modules=financialData"),2,"""targetMeanPrice"":"),"""raw"":",","))

=smfConvertData(smfstrExtr(smfWord(RCHGetWebData("
https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v10/finance/quoteSummary/
"&$D8&"?modules=financialData"),2,"""targetMedianPrice"":"),"""raw"":",","))

=smfConvertData(smfstrExtr(smfWord(RCHGetWebData("
https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v10/finance/quoteSummary/
"&$D8&"?modules=financialData"),2,"""targetHighPrice"":"),"""raw"":",","))

=smfConvertData(smfstrExtr(smfWord(RCHGetWebData("
https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v10/finance/quoteSummary/
"&$D8&"?modules=financialData"),2,"""numberOfAnalystOpinions"":"),"""raw"":",","))

The next time I upload the add-in, there will be a new function that will
allow simple JSON extraction, such as:

=smfGetYahooJSONData($D8,"financialData",1,"targetMeanPrice")

I originally wrote it to extract financial statements data, but the same
patterns seem to exist in the other Yahoo modules as well. So far.

Hi Randy,
It's been a long time since I needed your help. After downloading and extracting new SMF Add-IN version 4/17/2017, I've lost all rch and other functions. All I get is "undefined" messages. I've spent years working on a number of analytical spreadsheets and now all that work is mysteriously non-functioning. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"Undefined" usually means the folder with the add-in doesn't contain the
element definitions files -- the ones of the format, "smf-elements-*.txt".
