Was working with volume and short data. Elements: 979 980 981 982 985 988
I wasn't getting consistent conversion of the K/M/B and numbers with no indicator. It was correct on the web (with the correct indicator shown) but the spreadsheet was occasionally making an error in terms of conversion consistency. Is there a work around?

Most of that will go away on Yahoo when data is grabbed from their JSON
data files, because they have "raw" values. For example, the workaround for
#982 right now would be:

=smfConvertData(smfStrExtr(smfWord(RCHGetWebData("
https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v10/finance/quoteSummary/
"&D7&"?modules=defaultKeyStatistics"),2,"""sharesOutstanding"":"),"""raw"":",","))

When I get the new function(s) done, the element definitions will be based
on something like:

=smfGetYahooJSONField(D7,"defaultKeyStatistics","quoteSummary.result.0.defaultKeyStatistics.sharesOutstanding.raw")

In the most recent version of the add-in, I think this still works:

=smfGetYahooJSONData(D7,"defaultKeyStatistics","sharesOutstanding")

...but it's all positional extraction and not as reliable as the fully
qualified field name.

Just ticker, module, and fully qualified variable name on the JSON file.

I'm trying to create a database of qualified data names for the modules I'm
aware of. There are a number of them.

If I am not able to accomplish all within and using code then it is not useful to me.

Thanks for your time and efforts.

This is really not for my consumption, but for a 3rd party. It appears that none of my previous queries from with in VBA are going to work. At this point I may give up trying to accomplish it with VBA.

Thank you all for your time and efforts.

Thanks, David

Randy,

Thank you so much for keeping all the elements up to date and for all of your help over the many years! I use your elements and formulas daily and it has been very profitable.

I just wanted to say "thanks" and I look forward to the new updated files, especially the Yahoo and Morningstar mutual fund changes.

Thanks again.

I tried MMM, AAPL, COH. No ticker works. However, if I change the call to =RCHGetElementNumber(Ticker, 13865), (i.e., sector name), it works fine!!??
