What ticker symbol are you using?

Try exiting and restarting EXCEL and see if you still get blanks. Or try
running the smfForceRecalculation macro.

When I go into the Macro window, the macro does not show up; note gray "Run" button.

See picture, below.

[cid:image001.png@01D2F411.BF3AD150]

Actually, I can no longer see the smfFixLinks macro either.

Note the formula in B5, for example, looks correct, but still get #NAME?

Based on the macros no longer existing and the #NAME? error, it sounds like
you no longer have the add-in installed and activated in EXCEL. Is the
add-in available and checked within the add-in manager?

Could you have the Microsoft security update issue, which prevents external
add-ins from being loaded at start-up? See:

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/smf_addin/conversations/messages/30568

I have two Windows 10 computers, and neither have ever had that issue. But
a number of people did when they first installed that security update last
year.

What did the version check return?

What information does the green triangle on each cell give you?

When I expand a green triangle and the exclamation mark in the diamond, I get:

Invalid name error
Help on this error
Show calculation steps . . .
Ignore Error
Edit formula bar
Error checking options . . .

The version check returns: #NAME? See below.

[cid:image003.png@01D2F426.F95DBBD0]

I checked to make sure the add in was installed; looks like it is.

All of that indicates to me that add-in is not installed/activated, or at
least EXCEL is either not recognizing it or not loading it.

The only thing I can think to try is:

1. Go into the add-in manager and Uncheck the add-in.
2. Exit EXCEL
3. Restart EXCEL
4. Go into the add-in manager. The add-in should not be listed. Add the
add-in using the "Browse" button.
5. Exit EXCEL
6. Restart EXCEL.
7. Check the version again. Hopefully it will work now?

What did you do? Why are you getting results of the formula now? The green
triangle is gone now too.

Do you have recalculation set to manual?

But when I tried it again, I got that name error and could not fix it by expanding the green triangle!

1. Unchecked the add-in in the add-in menu.
2. Exited Excel.
3. Restart Excel.
4. Went back to add-in menu.
5. The add-in was still there, but unchecked.
6. Using the Browse tab, looked for the add-in in the SMF folder.
7. Added SMF after warning from Excel saying the file was already there.
8. Seems to be working now.

I made sure that all the links are now OK. Actually, changed them by hand.

For example, with ticker on A6:

=RCHGetYahooQuotes(A6,"n")
=RCHGetYahooQuotes(A6,"l1")

Problem: the cells now say #NAME?

The good news: All the links now look good, i.e., the function bar shows, for example,
=RCHGetYahooQuotes(A10,"n")
for when I am trying to get the name of the ticker on cell A10 and
=RCHGetYahooQuotes(A10,"l1")
when I am trying to get the price.
The bad news: the results are blank cells, nothing.

A517 is stock symbol "MMC". I think you're right on their servers not keeping up. I'm issuing hundreds of Yahoo requests for multiple data items from multiple symbols. I'll try the array-entered formula.

The array-entered formula should speed up (re)calculation significantly as
well, because the function only needs to go to the Internet once, for
hundreds of data items, rather than going to the Internet for each
individual data item.

Another thought -- the "Error" could be because those particular function
invocations are timing out.

Let me know how much your calculation time reduces. I'm curious.
