Hi Guys!
I know this is not stock market related, but would someone be kind enough to create a Calculate Button in the attached spreadsheet. The formula is in column F. I want to be able to input the 3 variables in the yellow highlighted cells and be able to press CALCULATE to produce the answer.

Very Grateful for any help!

Shift+F9 only calculates the current sheet. To calculate you should save
the file and excel will calculate all sheets.

Hi -

Sorry in advance if the answer is obvious and shows my ignorance.

I am trying to download (into excel) the results of the Predefined Expert Stock Screens that Fidelity provides. Some of the Predefined Expert Screen that Fidelity has are "Thank you PEG", "Growth at a reasonable price", "Earning Growth, Rating upgrades and Positive Surprises" etc. I would like to be able to download results of each of these screen into a separate file (or same file with different worksheets).

My objective is to have a workbook, with different tabs, that has the results of all the screens that I want. Then I would want to give a score of "1" for each stock that is found in a screen. In other words if a stock is in 5 screens, then it will get a score of "5", if it is in just 2 screens then it get a "2" score etc. That score can be used, among other factors, to rank the stock. (this could be a part of momentum strategy...)

I will be willing to share the xls with the community if someone can guide me how to download the results of the screen into excel.

Have a wonderful Sunday

Sundeep

I think you are going to have to supply more details, like the URL, fields and whatever else that might give folks a clue to whatever it is you are trying to do.

You might attach the spreadsheet if that will provide the information.

Whether or not that can be done would depend entirely on how they present
the data of the screening process. If it's a dynamically produced output,
the add-in won't be able to help. If the data is within the source code of
the web page and it has a bookmarkable URL, then there's a good chance the
add-in can get to the data.

Thanks for the response.

I am attaching the xls download from the site as well as the screen shot of the screen. I don't know how to find out the answer to the question Randy is asking. Can you guide me in helping find that answer?

Sorry, but neither of those help me. I would need to see the source code of
the web page. And even that might not be sufficient, since the results can
be generated by script or JSON.

However, it looks like you have an export option. Can you just use that to
automate the process?

Thank you for your kindheartedness in responding to all queries and many thanks to the wonderful folks on the group.

I am attaching the text version of the "Source" of the Thank You PEG screen from Fidelity.
I am open in the Automation that you suggest. How can I, say download, in excel, the results of 10 screens, without manually running them on Fidelity site serially? (My apologies for being thick headed on this).

I didn't see any screening output data in the source code you sent.

The only way you could download the results of the 10 screens is if those
results are actually sitting on their servers. If you need to "run" them by
choosing an option within the screener, it may not be possible to get at
the data with the add-in.

Someone mentioned they weren't working for a short time on Tuesday as well...

Hi Randy,

How would I go about importing the screen results and detail columns from FinViz? I searched the group and couldn't figure out the answer. I am trying to build an options monitoring dashboard based on the underlying securities this screen produces.

http://www.finviz.com/screener.ashx?v=151&f=cap_micro,fa_debteq_u0.2,fa_pb_u1,geo_usa,sh_insidertrans_pos,sh_opt_option&ft=4&o=-pb

Thank you Randy!

Easiest way would be to become a subscriber so you can use the "Export"
option.

Barring that, you'd need to pull the data one table cell at a time, with
something like:

=smfGetTagContent("
http://www.finviz.com/screener.ashx?v=151&f=cap_micro,fa_debteq_u0.2,fa_pb_u1,geo_usa,sh_insidertrans_pos,sh_opt_option&ft=4&o=-pb
","td",$B28,">Total:")

...where $B28 varies from 6 and up to 236 for each page of output (i.e.
each page has a different URL). Plus, you'd need to extract the data from
the coding of the table cell, which may vary for each column of output.

It might be easier to just extract the ticker symbols with something like:

=smfStrExtr(smfGetTagContent("
http://www.finviz.com/screener.ashx?v=151&f=cap_micro,fa_debteq_u0.2,fa_pb_u1,geo_usa,sh_insidertrans_pos,sh_opt_option&ft=4&o=-pb
","tr",$B28,">Total:"),"?t=","&ty")

...where $B28 will vary from 3 and up to 22 on each page of output. Then
use the technique described on the "FAQs and Tips" web page to get whatever
data fields you're interested in.

Randy,

Does this insider formula still work? After creating an account, I'm still not having any luck. Just trying to find net insider purchases. I don't care what the time period is, as long as I know what it is.
