Yes, you can
I find the best way to determine if the ADDIN supports something is to search the element definition file.
Or check the files section of the group. It contain a ton of useful spreadsheets.
You can get quarterly EPS for multiple quarter. For sales there are hundreds of elements to choose from.
You might check previous message for uploads of excel files for 10 years of fundamental data.
Plus, if it isn't in the ADDIN, just tell Randy EXACTLY what you want and the URL and there is a good chance he will add it in less than a day.

Unfortunately, not an easy extraction. The data isn't in a table, but
located in JavaScript code and put onto the web page dynamically. That
means extracting it out of that JavaScript code.
I'm looking at replacing the earnings.com quarterly earnings items with
data from this page. Stay tuned.

Hi,
When loading the new version of the add-in from Works-in-Progress, are we to delete the smf-AdvFN-Prefix text file that Randy proposed as a work around for earlier AdvFn issues?
Thanks

I don't know how alternate prefixes are affected by the new web site. Or
will be when they go to their "beta" data format.

Hello, my template is now updating again thanks to the new add-in. Thank you!!
However, I'm finding that for a number of tickers (e.g. "VG") the quarterly indicator for FQ1 ("8006") returns 2013/03 when finance.yahoo.com provides income statement data through Q2'13. I've also seen this for AT&T (T) and Verizon (VZ).
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a way to remedy?
Thank you...

I think they're putting their efforts into the upcoming "beta" format. They
have this note on their web pages:
"Newest quarter's financials are not updating correctly. Visit our beta
financials to view latest financial statement."

Thanks Randy. I guess there's no way at this time to source the beta financials in an automated manner?
Thanks again for everything...

Possible, but it's likely the process will change again before it's
official.
They are going to a completely different format, so it's going to be a huge
task to convert elements, even if it can be done. There may be a
possibility that all of the old elements will just get tossed, and a
completely new set defined. In any case, I wouldn't want to do the
re-mapping task twice.
I think there is a template that someone put together in the "Uploads by
Forum Members" folder in the FILES area, if you want to take a look at it.

I decided to pick up that growth rate from the quotes pages because it was expressed as a percentage.
Thanks for the formulas. It made them easy to add.
The "Usage" column above is something new I'm adding to the element definition workbook. It will have "S" for stocks, "E" for ETFs, and "F" for mutual funds. So the above elements apply to stocks only. If the element worked for all three types of equities, it would show "SEF".

Subject: [smf_addin] Attention -- Zacks updates
Zacks made a number of changes to their website this weekend. They not only rearranged which web pages some elements were on, but also changed the labeling on many elements. As a result, I had to redefine almost all Zacks elements.
I uploaded a new smf-elements-6.txt to the "Works in Progress" folder of the FILES area of the group. It contains all the new element definitions. To install the updates, replace the smf-elements-6.txt in your SMF add-in folder with this new file. Then, you'll either need to exit and restart EXCEL, or run the smfForceRecalculation macro in order for the add-in to load the new definitions.
I also uploaded a new version of the SMF-Template-Zacks-Data.xls workbook.
I had to obsolete four elements that I couldn't find on any of their web pages (if you see them, let me know), and added four new elements:

Hi there
Thanks again to Randy for fixing the Zacks data. All my templates are working nicely again.
As a side note = has anyone looked into how to pull down the High-Low price target ranges published by Yahoo (here)? =
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ao?s=QCOR+Analyst+Opinion
Mean Target: 84.44 Median Target: 85.00 High Target: 93.00 Low Target: 73.00
Zacks publishes "Analyst consensus" which is roughly in line with the quoted "averages" (normally! they may be a bit off sometimes)... but I can't seem to find the Hi-Low split anywhere... its always been useful for me to see the spread of POV on the 12mo outlook for a name...
Anyway, thanks for any feedback.
p.s. Does anyone else find the new Yahoo Groups format to completely *suck*? I can hardly use their page with any browser except Chrome.... IE9 is impossible... just a side observation...
Cheers,
john

Yes, the new group format sucks.
But It is not going to change for the better.
Yahoo received over 250,000 complaints which they have chosen to ignore.
But its FREE.

You just need something like:
=RCHGetTableCell("http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ao?s=QCOR",1,">Low Target")
They will be slightly different than Zacks because Zacks and Thomson
probably have a different mix of analysts.
