I'm getting an "Error" when I try to get a stock name, e.g. "=RCHGetElementNumber("C",13862)"

OK, so the fix would be to do a CTRL-h (Find/Replace) searching for 13862 and replacing with 13863 (Yahoo source), replace all, in any spreadsheet trying to look up the company name from the ticker.

You should make sure your Internet Options are set to always get fresh
content, or it could happen again.

The funny thing is it was already set to always get new version, but until I manually deleted the cache files it just didn't work for me. So maybe something to add to the list of things to try for troubleshooting.

Thanks again. Cheers!

I'm getting an "Error" when I try to get next earnings date, e.g. "=RCHGetElementNumber("C",13893)"
New Problem

Also
I'm getting an "Error" when I try to get last earnings date, e.g. "=RCHGetElementNumber("C",1290)"
Zacks

Both of those are working fine here. What are your element definitions?
That is:

=smfGetAParms(13893)
=smfGetAParms(1290)

Also, which version of the add-in:

=RCHGetElementNumber("Version")

Randy

I had started to use a laptop that had the 2012 version on it
rather than my customary desktop which ahs the 2014 version.
Hence the problem.

I've now updated that machine.

Thanks so much

Randy,

I am updating some formulas since MSN changed everything. I like the Morningstar site a lot and use it for a few lookups.

Can you help me with extracting the "Latest Indicated Dividend Amount " from this page please?

http://quotes.morningstar.com/stock/c-dividends?&t=aapl http://quotes.morningstar.com/stock/c-dividends?&t=aapl

http://quotes.morningstar.com/stock/c-dividends?&t=aapl http://quotes.morningstar.com/stock/c-dividends?&t=aapl Latest Indicated Dividend Amount 0.4700

I was trying to duplicate a previous RCHGetTableCell formula for this type of table but I can't seem to get it right.

Thanks.

What do you mean MSN changed everything?... I, in fact, am unable to find MSN Stock Scouter which I have used for several years. It worked fine yesterday. Now it seems to be gone? What is going on?

Try this:

=RCHGetTableCell("http://quotes.morningstar.com/stock/c-dividends?&t=aapl",1,"Latest
Indicated")

My spreadsheet that links to the msn stock scouter website just comes up with 'error'
everywhere and i cannot locate MSN Stock Scouter on internet. I get taken to some website that doesn't even look like msn.

Anyone else having this problem? Anyone know what is going on? It is 10:11 PM pacific time on
Tuesday 9/30/14 as I write this.

Thanks.

I hadn't looked for StockScouter. However, since the stock screener they
now have uses MorningStar data items, I'd says chances are that it's gone
for good.

Looks like this is another lousy stinking change they are doing. I used to use their screener many years ago when it was based on the stock scouter rankings...then they got rid of it...but you could still get the rankings one stock at a time. Now it looks like they got rid of that too. Total deterioration of the MSN website for me if this is true.

Hello Randy,

Why is:

RCHGetElementNumber(ticker , 63) (5 year dividend growth) returning #value ?

If it has to do with MSN is there another way to get the dividend growth%? Thanks.
